Anova introduced a subscription service after I purchased my sous vide. They grandfathered me in to continue to use their app, but now I need to re-login every time I want to cook something. Their product is fine, but trying to get people to pay a subscription to get basic app features on something they already own is pretty obnoxious. Recommend buying something that gives you this functionality (setting the temperature remotely and checking on its status) for free.

The minute you walk away and the Bluetooth disconnects. You pretty much have to manually disconnect the machine to reestablish Bluetooth connectivity. You’re better off just not using the app. With my experience once the app disconnects so will your cook time and sometimes temperature.

Just got Anova Precision Cooker Nano 3.0 for the holidays. This review is limited to the free version of the App.  THE APP IS USELESS. In spite of following ALL the suggestions (unplugging the device, turning Bluetooth on) and a few of my own I am unable to pair device with phone.  And I’m not new to this rodeo - I have successfully paired a number of devices to this phone (car, speakersetc.)  If it’s a  ploy to purchase the subscription service it back fired for me. I’m unwilling to pay for anything if the free version is this bad!! I hope the device is better or it’ll go back - being a scientist I have used, and have access to, a recycling immersion heater with a timer.
