Really nice app
More complicated to connect my iOS device than the previous version with my Apogee Duet 2. Always saying “waiting for device” even when I have everything properly hooked up. Requires a lot of troubleshooting and leaves a lot of time wasted. So far Duet 3 and the app are making me sad as a long time Duet 2 iOS user and fan. Hope it gets better…
Apogee had a great reputation in the late ‘00’s due to the original Duet. Somehow they seem to have no desire to live up to it since that time. My Duet 2 had a recurring firmware issue that forced me to return it. My One no longer works with modern iOS devices with USB-C. This is not permanent hardware incompatibility. They just don’t want to update the software. If you are serious about great hardware and software support for as long as your device lasts, check out RME. They are in a completely different (read: better) class. Avoid Apogee.
Really disappointed that they chose not to keep up to date with the latest iOS versions.
Really disappointed that this no longer works on iPads with iOS 15+ on them.
First they for some reason....can’t make this app work for the 2020 IPad Pro, so I can’t really use my Duet...for Mac/IPad...with my IPad. I ended up getting a Symphony Desktop....but it doesn’t have usb midi like the Duet...or charge my IPad like the Duet. What so hard about making Maestro work with the IPad Pro and have it recognize the Duet? And speaking of the Symphony Desktop, several features that made me buy it....that have been advertised in the video Apogee posted on their website .........in June of 2020, like dual path monitoring and desktop control app...are still not available. Apogee makes great interfaces that sound great....but apparently they just aren’t that good when it comes to the software side of things.
Crashes and won’t initiate constantly. Definitely an old app that hasn’t been updated in a long time. Disconnects every time you minimize the app.
I’ve had the One interface for a while and decided to try it on my iPad Pro. Installed the Maestro app and wow! Instant disappointment. Meters keeps showing signal on input and output when there’s no signal. For such a reputable company as Apogee you would think they would have put a priority into fixing this issue. Great sounding interface. Whack app.
Didn’t really work at all with fully firmware-updated duet 2. Apogee has an undeserved reputation for being fully integrated with Mac platforms. I have always had issues with their stuff and software... is definitely not their forte.
I have a 2018 iPad pro that I was planning to use with an Apogee One that I recently purchased. The app doesn’t recognize the device and I’m left having to return a product to the Apple Store during a pandemic. This is a failure both for Apogee and for Apple that they are selling a pretty expensive piece of hardware that isn’t actually compatible with their current lineup of iDevices. I’m not at all happy with this situation. Buyer beware. I wish I had read up on the app prior to buying the hardware.
