Air China

I recently booked a flight with Air China through a third party I found on Sky Scanner, and it’s been a nightmare trying to view my flight on the Air China app. Firstly the app wouldn’t recognise the booking, called their customer service as the chat bot doesn’t offer an English language service, it was confirmed that my booking does show on their end. I was advised to cancel my phoenix miles account, and create a new one. I did but it didn’t work, called again, they advised the same but this time add my middle name however, you can’t space this out on the app, at least at the time I couldn’t. My booking eventually appears, and now, after checking a few weeks later in the app, my booking has disappeared again and to use the travel function, I need my account validated. I have tried to validate the account on several occasions prior to this, and yet it still hasn’t. Overall it’s been a nightmare using this app.

I wonder did they hire graduated students to code the website and the app, there is nothing really work. No matter how I try to check in using the website, it keeps timing out, giving me JavaScript error about undefined flight departure date. The app can’t even find my booking. Both the website and the app render my name in the right format. The website adds MR into my first name, and the app shows last name then first name without space or comma in between. I can’t believe this is the it service by a air flight company. Their management has to be deeply corrupted to be this bad.

Not a fan of the company as there is no flexibility. The app doesn’t really work well. They impose you a change (I had a flight planned in the morning at 8 am and they changed my flight for the one at 3pm) but no compensation or flexibility or possibility to understand what happened and if other options are possible or not. They don’t provide your special meal.

This is genuinely one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. The bot check literally gets on a loop and sometimes doesn’t even work. The website literally changes prices for flights with each refresh. They make thing a so unnecessary technical, why do I have e a booking reference, it’s seat number, online confirmation number and also an E-Ticket number. They don’t even refer to the correct term for these when you need these to check your flight status leaving you guessing. To put it simply it is a disastrous app/website.

I’ve tried to book flights and it’s offered me flex for the same price as economy but only if I register for Corporate. I’ve tried to register for Corporate using the app but it switches to Chinese, I’ve emailed them but no response and fully I tried the support lines but all in Chinese.

Such a complicated App! Very very difficult to navigate. Requir d to enter the same passenger details, flight details many times. Add to this required to receive a OTC via txt or email more than 5 times on one booking!! This App needs a lot more work to make it user friendly.
