Phenomenal concept and it works, but there are bugs over bugs over bugs
I been using concepts for 2+ years, mostly notes, diagrams or whiteboarding on team calls. Excellent app!
Only a few features away from being the best drawing app for iPad. You should add layers groups for managing multiple layers. Infinite Painter still has some better features like mirroring, guides for drawing with grid and better brushes.
This app is amazing!
I’ve been using it for some time now and it doesn’t work anymore. Everything is glitching pretty badly only on new canvases since last night. Every new canvas glitches but the old ones are ok. I’ve tried changing the settings on my Apple Pencil and restarting my iPad but nothing works. I’m upset by this because I’ve been really enjoying this app and using it for school and free time, this app is the only motive I got a new iPad Pro to get the pencil. Hope it will be fixed. Pretty bummed about this :(
It’s pretty easy to use for quick, imprecise sketches, but it often misses taps lacks some features such as manually inputting object sizes.
I have it for a couple of years already, but never really gotten over to using it; but then I realized that the learning curve is not steep at all and just started drawing and drawing. Now I feel like I would almost give up CAD drawing altogether for this hybrid type of digital hand drawing. It feels as though it has the best of both worlds: I has the freedom from classical CAD constraints (need for precision, complicated file structure, etc.), while keeping some of it‘s highlights that hand drawing doesn‘t have (copy/paste, edits, layer structure should you need it). As a practicing architect, I highly reccomend it.
I bought the Ipad Pro specifically for tasks related with annotating, taking notes, drawing (more technical than artistic). It extended its use beyond what was envisioned first, and the revelation for me was Concepts. It really, and I mean REALLY, changed the way I’m working. I use Essentials and PDF Import / Export Add On. I’m also using Liquid Text, My Script Nebo, PDF Expert, and Kodex. Most of the time, the infinite canvas, the layered structure and the incredible powerful selection tool gave you almost deity powers: you can arrange selections, drawings, text in almost every imaginable way. There are special tools, like Nudge and Slice with unexpected uses unless you see them in action. Working with pdf files (especially the ones with many pages) must be improved. In here, Liquid text is shining. The support team does a great job. The only thing left to be desired (the support team says it is under development) is copying / moving a drawing / handwritten text in a distant part of the canvas. There are workarounds but it is nothing natural like moving the object with the pen and the canvas autoscrolling in the desired direction. Or just long pressing the pen and just selecting paste in the desired area. Working with the text tool / text labels is acceptable. There are hiccups when the text becomes long. I would like to see an easy way, like in Kodex, to open all kind of text documents (txt, cpp, php, html,…) and importing and controlling the text in a separate layer. You can do it with photos of the text or via transforming the text into a pdf and importing, but it is not at all naturally. Organising multiple photos is easy, is almost as powerful as in Create. If Concepts will add Font control and importing Fonts it will easily surpass Create. I wish a little more control of imported photos, anyway: not only scaling / stretching / rotating but also cutting away / hiding parts (not necessary rectangular shapes) of the photo, without tricks like another layer with a painted area in the background color… Also, I dream of a feature like inserting an empty space in specific / selected zone of the canvas without modifying the distances between the objects in the rest of the canvas. I would like to see easily importing / exporting between apps like Concepts, My Script Nebo, Kodex, LiquidText, Pages and others. Also, if devs will decide to implement a feature like collaborative canvas it will become viable alternatives for Blackboard, SamePage, Explain Ever
Great
