This is the best online Mahjong game there is, bar none. It is very realistic. I really enjoy it. A couple of comments: 1) walking speed is ideal. The other speeds are very fast and unrealistic. 2) I understand the chow, pong and wu prompts are needed and that’s good. 3) There’s not a way to rearrange the hidden tiles of your hand. It’s sometimes difficult to determine the tiles to discard. 4) I’m not sure why we earn hearts and their purpose. 5) There’s same for the stars. 6) I see other players have their pictures. I don’t see how or where I can add my picture. Otherwise, I enjoy the game immensely and have introduced it to friends and family to play an online game from their home. One thing I want to point out is the quiz questions. The way the questions phrased does not make sense and my friends and I have difficulty passing even the first level. Granted iv been learning Riichi Mahjong and this one I believe is Hong kong, I'm not sure what the differences are tbh. My only suggestions/reg - I have a hard time seeing the tiles that were discarded in the middle. Please add a setting that neatly lays them out - when starting a game or going into the game settings I'm not sure what some of the settings are due to them not having descriptions - is it possible to pay for a full add free version? - is it possible to add a Riichi Mahjong mode? This app is super fun and thorough. Don’t let the cuteness fool you, it’s very complete and has great info in the scoring and info section. I’ve learned to play completely just by using this app. I love the characters and the interactive elements that make it so easy to pick up. I’m still new to the scoring combos and the new rules in the New 6 and New 18 but they make it easy to learn. My husband and I use it to play in a private room with AI and it’s so much fun. The only thing I’m not clear about is that small squiggly icon in the upper left corner. What’s that for? Aside from that, the settings are awesome and hearing the name of each tile in Cantonese helps me pick it up faster. The ad is by outbrain. The x is on the top left of the screen and an ad blocks it. No matter how many times you hit the x, you’re rerouted to the ad on safari. This is the reason for the 3-stars. I like how it shows how each hand is won with breakdown of fahn (points) and the different ways to play. Having both Chinese and English display and audio options is also a plus so I can teach my ABC kids how to play and pick up some Cantonese skills at the same time. The interface is clear and easy to learn. My only comment would be to make the characters more realistic looking rather than cartoon-like, and no need to introduce them at every new round.
