Man zieht viel zu selten die guten Jokers

Die Lernkurve ist am Anfang recht hoch. Man wird aber mit einem tollen Spiel belohnt das immer wieder motiviert neu bzw. Weiter zu spielen. PS: KEINE Werbung im Spiel!!!

I really just can’t get over the fact that this game was made by one person over a 2 1/2 year period. The game UI/UX is so smooth. Even though it only has one song, it’s so catchy! The true problem of this game for me is that it doesnt properly make the game difficult. Difficulty is artificially enhanced by giving the player a higher chance to receive useless Joker cards. It’s too bad that this game can only make the game more difficult through these tactics like making jokers lose you money every round or, the most common, the shop just providing utterly useless Jokers, which only feels worse as you progress through the game and unlock more useless jokers to your pile of potential jokers that you could get. Another problem with this game are the unbalanced card decks, some which trivialize key aspects of poker and Balatro. For instance the Checkered Deck has only 2 suits and thus makes getting Flush the second easiest way to score next to High Card. This completely erased the need for going for Straights or double Pairs for the rest of my progress through the different Stames. Once i got this deck, i could skip through most of this game with ease as it was 50/50 whether my hand had a flush. I have never been the hugest poker fan, and maybe this is why I will not be replaying the other decks more. Even if I were to beat them all, I would not feel like my skill increased since as I said, difficulty is completely tied to making the RNG more against you. It’s 9 out of 10 for me but can only be a GOTY contender if compared to other Indie games only.

Balatro ist wirklich großartig. Es ist super simple, leicht zu verinnerlichen hat aber eine recht steile Lernkurve. Gleichzeitig ist es sehr entschleunigend, also super geeignet um eine schnelle Runde zu spielen, während man auf den Bus wartet. Was ich mit für die iPhone-Version wünschen würde, wäre eine Option das Spiel auch im Hochformat spielen zu können.

I really dislike these types of card games and just poker in general, so this game naturally shocked me when I found myself playing it until 3 AM. I am completely hooked. This is an amazing game.

Hatte ewig kein Spiel, das ich so gerne gespielt habe! Am Anfang vielleicht etwas komplex, aber dann entpuppt es sich als ideales Spiel um abzuschalten. Spiele ich immer wieder gerne!
