The Battle for Wesnoth is a turn-based tactical strategy game with a high fantasy theme. Build up a great army, gradually turning raw recruits into hardened veterans. Gameplay-wise, this game is great, there’s progression for individual units, and interesting and engaging combat. My ONLY issue, is perhaps the biggest one. On the iPhone X at least, it keeps deleting saved games. I have very carefully saved games to try playing later, only to come back and my entire campaign progress is gone. There’s only so many times I want to fight Mordak in the first level!! 

Please let me know if I’ve done something wrong with saving, or if there’s something I need to change in settings, as I really would like to keep playing.

If this gets fixed, it’s a 5 star game for me

I have been playing Wesnoth for many years and can now enjoy it on my iPad. Also when my son was in year 1 at school he found reading the scenarios more interesting than his school readers and it spurred him onto being an avid reader.

Great title, worthy of much more exposure on the App Store.  Old school in it’s business model, which is a great thing. You buy the game you have the game. You can even play it for free on a PC/Mac to see if its for you. Nothing to lose really. 

Not sure if the developer reads these reviews, but just in case here’s a feature request: Improved mouse support now mouse on iPad is a thing. Would be great to have touch scroll on Magic Mouse to move the screen and also right click contextual menus. 👍

No problems with using this app. No crashes, UI problems or other such issues. The game has ported very well to IOS, and is great on an iPad. I've only been playing the single player campaigns for two weeks in order to learn the game, but even these are very challenging on normal settings, so there are many hours of fun to be had. If you want a deep, complex and dynamic real time strategy game, try this. Great user community as well.

This is a good start but still needs a lot of interface work specific to ios.  Without a mouse over, or confirm to move its almost impossible to see hex tile percentages. Scrolling the map is also inelegant.  I am using undo at almost every turn.  Unfortunately I'll be regressing to the other port until this is more complete. I'll update my feedback when the next version is out, but thanks for your efforts in doing this :).
