Can’t swipe from left edge to go back. Can’t swipe to close photos. Can’t select text to look up words in dictionary or use the translate function. Can’t zoom text. Can’t swipe between sections. Can’t select sections I am interested in. Stopped using it. Hoping it will be updated with improvements.
Is this just a web app now? Navigation is messed up, safari opens for articles, swipe back don't work, tab bar is hidden behind a stack of articles... please read the HIG (hope you know what it is), and bring back the real app. Will keep it installed hoping for improvements, but not using it anymore.
I used to be able to choose what topics I was interested in and go straight to them (My News) but that’s gone and instead I have to go through lots of topics to find what I’m interested in and even then there doesn’t seem to be many articles in each topic. How can they manage to have so many sports topics (is it really necessary with both football and premier league?)? Not impressed at all.
It doesn’t work offline anymore :( I always liked to use the bbc news app preloading the articles, then being able to read them while in flight mode.
The older version was clearer and quicker to navigate. Vertical scrolling instead of horizontal is slow: where are the ‘entertainment’ and ‘science’ sections?
The newest version of the app is terrible. “My news” have disappeared, leaving me to scroll and scroll to find the areas of news that concern me. I give it one star, because I simply can’t watch news from this app anymore. Love BBC though, but not from here.
My news is gone - terrible! …. And on My iPad I now have to scroll through loads of lagre pictures to get where I want, and when I get there, the text font is ridiculosly small. The feel is that BBC think that people are not able to read anymore - only lagre pictures work…..
The BBC used to provide good journalism, but norms it is either largely written by bits or those who haven’t mastered English. Poor quality writing, with
