There is no support for gestures to navigate, so to go back from an article to the previous page requires you to reach up and tap the back icon in the top left corner. Please support swiping from the left side of the screen, it would be so much easier to navigate that way. Using the website is much easier and really the App should be a better experience.

The new update took everything that pleasant from the previous version and left it in the passed. 

Extremely unfriendly to scroll through multi-topic headlines and find the one that interests you. 

App is a lot more video oriented than before, which is a shame because using this app was an escape from the video inundated media we are exposed to everywhere now. 

Quite annoying login screen every time the app is opened requires an extra tap to get to the news; making the BBC seem desperate to capitalise on non-anonymous user data. 

It seems that the new app is trying to compete with the rest of news platforms in features instead of being the out-stander that it was when it came to UX. 

I am not against change, but this seems to be more of a business decision than one deem of a state owned informer.

This used to be my daily news app. You’ve broken a number of things with your “overhauled” version:
- Can’t swipe to go back anymore. This is a standard iOS gesture.
- Can’t select text anymore, so can’t look up, pronounce, copy… seriously bad decision.
- Links inside an article open in Safari, and then the web page offers to open the BBC app. 🤦🏽‍♂️
- Many other usability and accessibility issues. 
Please keep it simple. And native.

The new app is unusable, pestering the whole time to log in and extremely poor user experience in general. It looks like any other generic news outlet, no customization and in general feels like a huge step in the wrong direction. The old app gave me great personalised news in a quick and efficient way without the constant nagging about registering. The new app is nothing but a small view of your website with news that is barely relevant to me. And the constant nagging about registration is unacceptable. It seems that the BBC has gone from being an independent news provider with unbiased news to being another commercial shill. As soon as this review has been posted I will make sure to uninstall your app!
