Hiding the useful tools just a tap away residing just above the keyboard replaced with a waste a time consuming step by having to click “B/U” to reach it and then again tapping to go back so 2 TAPS of unnecessary waste of time to choose is two steps backwards. Especially on an iPad which has a big enough screen. What were you guys thinking with it smh.. Please at least give us the legacy setting of having it the way it was before for those that actually know how great of a notetaking on the go features those were. Don’t try to make something too simple like that. That looks more like a Lite build feature sure maybe it works on iOS/phone perhaps (even though iPhones have grown biggest in size over the years..) Hope you take this review into serious consideration. Thank you.

I used to write with others. I have published seven books in the Kobo Library. But now I fancy “Bear.” 

Why?

Works acroos all iOS tools.

Is very intuitive. The learning curve is not steep.
Is very responsive as a web-based app should

Since the recent update, the app has managed to lose written entries during general screen refreshes when switching between apps. The ability to start an entry and revisit the app between app screens wasn’t a problem until now. With several apps facing vulnerability issues due to Apple’s lack of awareness to exploits used against their customers it’s concerning that any app, especially one touting the best security measures preventing anyone including themselves from accessing personal data would allow for a vulnerability to present itself in this manner. This was a good app until this occurred but, will be expecting an update to bring the app back to the level it was at in terms of ensuring that entries will always remain secure. Run some tests on your software and ensure that entries will not be affected with the next update. Take into consideration as well that the app is running on a paid subscription with features that are an added benefit that doesn’t necessarily need to be used in securing data but, every single entry using the encryption method has to be checked now too to ensure they haven’t been deleted as well. It’s software. It isn’t always perfect but, at least the app developer (and other customers who may be experiencing similar if not the same problem) can be made alerted to the issue.

This app is way better than MS Word. It simplifies all of the features and also has cool options to turn it into HTML or a website coding for you. It as good instructions that are clear and easy to learn how to use the features. There are some issues with glitches, like I am having a problem with a gray bar appearing on every new note and can’t get rid of it. I don’t know how it got there. There’s also an issue when I double click on trying to select something in a note I am editing and it suddenly makes the not disappear and tells me to open a note or make a new one. Has a few issues but it’s pretty good.

### ***** "The app won’t synch on my ipad(update)"
Add the app for a while on my Apple watch and my Iphone and to be 100% it’s not that bad of an app I gave 1 star mostly because it doesn’t do anything better than the built in function and more importantly it doesn’t synch after I bought the pro subscription. My connection is good and the preference is turned on sooo yeah kinda bad.

Great community with a lot of help from the users and the company they may have some problem since the last few update but you are in good hands with them !

Bear’s been on a long journey, recently arriving at version 2, but it still has some travelling to do. The long trip pushed me (reluctantly) from Bear to Craft, and now that I am there that’s my standard of comparison.  
I remain a Bear fan (user interface unmatched) but until there is some rethinking, for example text collapsing/folding is difficult to make much use of, I just can’t justify the effort and time to return thousands of notes into Bear. For now I’ll stay a subscriber and check back optimistically on each update.

After sharing routinely to Bear, where the only annoyance is that i have to then Carefully enter a carriage return or two before adding a notation to explain a URL that is encoded, i am now using Bear to keep language notes and to comment on attached images.
Now pad for Pro and am watching for Bear 2.0 soon, as i need fonts for foreign language notes.
