Love Belair
Useless at changing vehicles and coverage.
I recently received my policy renewal notice with Belair. I noticed that the premium seemed somewhat higher. I also noticed that there were coverages which I did not need. Ie “Family” coverage. I’m a widower and there are no other drivers. I tried to make changes prior to renewal using the app. However, the only change I could make was to my annual Kilometers. For other changes I was directed to phone Belair. Well, after repeated calls and hearing a recording informing me that due to “unusually high” call volume I had to wait, and that I should use the app. After years of receiving exemplary service from Johnson, and being promised the same with the new company after the transition, the lack of service from Belair came as a shock. Finally, after several failed attempts to reach Belair, I called another company and received a quote for several hundred dollars less. Since I can’t talk to anyone with Belair, and the app does not allow me to modify my policy so that I can compare quotes, I am giving notice that I am not renewing my auto policy # KKE-QS7H which expires on April 30, 2024. This has been the worst experience that I’ve had dealing with an insurance company in years. I’d suggest that you either provide an app that allows the client to make changes on line, or hire additional staff to work the phones, because I believe that the statement that the wait is caused by “unusually high” call volume, is obviously untrue. In other words, if you are not going to provide service, develop a self serve portal that will allow the client to do it himself. Want to change policy to remove vehicle from storage. In spite of numerous tries there is no facility on the menu, only put in storage. Also call back does not work, press 1 to speak to agent just causes the same message to be repeated, over and over again!
Clean and simple and direct...could be better a lot better. if we could pay on the app?
This app is way too harsh on how it grades me for my driving habits. I don’t recommend this app but am forced to use it by Belairdirect to have any chance of a discount. Furthermore, it does not take into account the safety features of my car which is a Nissan Qashqai. I use all the safety features including the radar distance detection which automatically slows the car when necessary in a controlled fashion. Yet this app often scores that as poor smoothness and deducts from my driving score. In other words, the app thinks it knows my car better than Nissan does. I generally only drive on weekends, stay at or below the speed limit, and almost never use my phone other than for Apple Maps navigation. And even then, I only look at the map occasionally as my wife generally does that as a passenger. Over the past 6 months, maybe 6 phone calls each lasting less than 2 minutes. Maybe this is due to the way the app interacts with Nissan Connect (I have a 2021 Nissan Qashqai)? In any case, it grades me much lower than I drive. And I have to review each driving segment individually which is very inconvenient to understand why it may be scoring me low.
Very disappointed
The app was good in some previous versions but now it cannot detect my trips. The app has all required permissions and it has connected to the internet but it’s not working. After the latest update I had around 5 trips and non of them have been detected by the app.
This app has been incredibly frustrating using it with multiple members on our plan. Auto merit confuses me and my husband, and for some reason I can not access any of our plan information as a secondary user only my husband can access on his app. We have called Belair multiple times to try and get things straightened out, but the app remains useless for me other than to see my husbands drives in auto merit.
