BeReal is the simplest photo-sharing app where you and your friends post once a day to show what you’re really up to.

One of my favourite apps concept wise and that’s why i continue to use it even though there are way too many bugs. Quite often it replaces new photos i take with old ones on my profile, so i’m unable to add actual recent photos; or shows previous photos on friends’ profiles when they take new ones. When scrolling my archive/history, clicking on any date shows me the same photo. Often time delays and lags with adding photos, adding titles, comments etc.

Out of the blue didn’t let me in my be real account anymore and then deleted all of my friends and all of my memories and do not download it if you have a lot of memories on this app and you don’t want to lose them because you will end up losing them and this has happened multiple times to me and my friends. It’s nothing wrong with my phone. It has happened to iPhone users Samsung users do not download it. It will be complete waste of time and you’ll lose precious memories.

There are many many small bugs for a company this large. For example, it CONSTANTLY mixes up different users with the wrong bereals (mainly on the friends of friends page), also, sometimes you have to click the friends of friends button multiple times to even add a post there. The location is wrong 9/10 times and its not like its only a few meters wrong, which would be fine, it shows that my bereal was taken in the other side of the city. Not to add all the trouble with comments, reactions, etc. Honestly, is it that hard to fix these little issues for an app this big and popular? Receiving a whopping 1 star out of 5, the app isn’t enjoyable.

after the notification comes, the app loads for so long that by the time it opens I either have 3 seconds left to post or I miss the 2 minute time window altogether and can only post one photo. completely loses the point of even waiting for a notification.

Been using BeReal for a while, even before their huge money round. (For background info - I’m using iPhone 13.)

Things have gotten peogressively worse over the past year - the app is extremely laggy. 

1. Sometimes not getting notifications when it’s time for a BeReal, sometimes getting them but for example, with just 10 seconda remaining for a timely BeReal.

2. In the past week, I have been getting the notifications but the app just keeps loading and loading and finally when it opens it’s 5 seconds too late for a timely BeReal. It has happened already 3 days in a row. Being on time is the whole point of this app and it’s not working as it is intended.

3. Descriptions for pictures just randomly dissapear.

4. Front camera pictures are very pixelated, front camera is working perfectly in other apps.
