Having the “Done” button on the Message Centre be white on a light grey background is annoying though. This is the only reason I get the digital version and now you can only search back a handful of editions. I did flag this up last month and had a very nice reply saying “that it is it is definitely in the backlog to refine in the future”. It used to work, now it doesn’t and I’m still paying for it. I have raised my issues with the customer service team but they are slow to respond . The problems are: - the digital view problem means that it doesn’t always fully load correctly ( leaving many blank pages) therefore I can’t read all the content ( I don’t understand why it doesn’t fully download to my device so I can access from memory as opposed to trying to reload from the website each time I access it?) - the magazine view (there are 2 ways to view Bike via the app either digital or magazine view) problem is that some issues the magazine just won’t load up. These problems have only arisen since the new app that gives a digital view was launched. I can only assume they haven’t tested comprehensively prior to launching, very annoying!!! I also have yearly problems with my account that I have to raise with customer support and persist with until resolved. It looks like an issue at the server end ?or a glitch with the new app under certain conditions? Bauer had no record of me while Great Magazines said they “...don’t do Bike Magazine”. I have tried all the usual fixes, such as as deleting and reloading the app and logging on from a different iPad. The online support leads to an infinite loop and none of the phone helplines can fix the problem nor can they reimburse me for the unused portion of my subscription or for my lost magazine editions. I’ve been in touch with support and while an encouraging initial engagement, it’s now been weeks and I still access my content and they have stopped responding. So for me the app is well below par and I think it’s really not fit for purpose. As a result the functionality has suffered, not least of all as if you try to zoom in to look at the images (it’s a bike magazine, of course you want to look at the images), change page, or generally scroll around, your met by a non optional readability screen - the functionality of which cannot be turned off. I can’t stress how annoying this is. Additionally, you would think it obvious to turn off the centre bleed (which splits and offsets the pages for magazine printing) for the iOS version.
