BIMx (legacy)

It is a very nice app. It is stable and gives beautiful presentations of projects. It would be nice to have some edit features. Specially - annotations after client meetings or site visits ( add comment to elements with date, maybe pictures for reference to specific tile that the client would wish or issue on construction site) - sketch over the model with apple pencil on ipad pro would be a very good productivity feature. E.g taking a screenshot and sketching over it or directly sketching in 2d and 3d.

A tool that I cannot do without. To use and discuss with contractors, clients, engineers, quantity surveyors, etc. Absolutely indispensable!

Real timesaver & productivity booster, it's great to have all key documentation on site without carrying bulky paperwork. Highly recommended

it seems you pay for every upgrade

The graphics in bimx pro are vastly superior to the new bimx or bimx lab. Please keep this around because the either versions are unusable.

The most recent iteration of the app (both pro and standard) crashes on Google Cardboard launch.

This app is useless

The tool has potential to be very useful. However, I uploaded a very simple model and with only a few views. The app keeps crashing while navigating through the model, even on an iPad Pro with 256mb of RAM and running on Gigabit WiFi! I hope Graphisoft makes this more stable very soon. I could not use this in front of a client, as it works now.

BIMx Pro is allowing me to present projects that I’ve designed to my clients in a way that is very powerful and impressive. Each client can see their project in a way that is easy for them to understand, and they see me as an architect who employs cutting edge technology for their benefit. For an upcoming discussion, I’ve put together a slide show using BIMx Pro to show them 3D views, plans, and sections - the preparation of which was much easier than I’d imagined.

Designing a home with Visbeen Architects of Grand Rapids Michigan. Wayne’s creativity is brought to 3 dimensions by Matt, his BIMx team member, allowing for different viewing angles and distances, both inside and outside. My wife and I understand our design and related choices much more deeply. This will allow us to communicate more precisely with our builder and the subs. Also, fun to dream. BIMx is a powerful tool to deliver a better home.
