## BirdPro Description
BirdPro is the ultimate app for identifying and appreciating the birds of South Africa.

You can download and test the app for free with a limit sample of 100 birds, and when you are ready you can upgrade to bird of:
- Southern Africa
- South Africa
- Kruger National Park
- Namibia
- Botswana
- Zimbabwe
- Mozambique

You can also purchase the Southern African version which includes all of the above.

BirdPro boasts an award winning identification tool and has a vast source of information:
- Over 8000 beautiful and diagnostic images from various angles and of all variants, e.g. immature, males, females, dark and light morphs
- Over 3000 comprehensive and clear bird calls
- Over 70 videos showing bird behaviour or Jizz
- Informative and comprehensive information on each bird
- Interactive and accurate bird distribution maps, even showing the migration patterns per month where applicable.
- Names of birds in 16 languages, including most native South African languages as well as Scientific, German, French and Portuguese.

The SmartSearch function allows you to select your current, or any other location and the birds at that location will be filtered. Over and above the GPS location, you can search by shape, type, colours, size, where seen, bird calls and more. There are 100's of attributes you can choose from, which makes identifying a bird accurate and easy. As a first ever bird app achievement, the resulting bird list is sorted by relevance with the most probable birds matching your search criteria at the top, which makes it extremely quick and accurate. The ability to remove birds from the results is a game-changer. It even has a section for hard to  identify birds (LBJ's, etc)

In addition to the SmartSearch function, BirdPro contains the most accurate Image Recognition for South African birds. You can upload images from your device or take a photo with the device's camera, which will then be used for the Image Recognition. This function has a 2-week evaluation period.

BirdPro also offers the most accurate location filter available. You can select current location, location from a map or any of over 1200 South African reserves.

You can also log your sightings with trip descriptions, date, photos and notes, which are then indicated as pins on the distribution maps. Sightings lists can be viewed and can even be synced to a website and shared between devices. 

BirdPro also offers a Similars functionality. It not only ranks the similars, it also gives preference to your location selection. When using a location filter, similars at that location will be ranked higher and similars outside of your selected location will be displayed last. Both these features are a first for any bird app!

No internet connectivity is required to operate the app after it is installed which makes it possible to use the app in the most remote locations.

All updates are regular and free. 
Major functional additions, like Image Recognition, is charged for additionally.

The feature, functionality, information and detailed photos of this app make it unmatched by any other contender, everyone around has always used roberts, Sasol and similar apps and I’ve never liked the feel of them one day I decided to get myself a bird app to make my life easier and did research in which was best for me of the two I just mentioned. To my surprise I saw BirdPro which I had never heard of. I downloaded the evaluation version and a while later took a gamble and paid for the full version. Never again will I need of any other app in the foreseeable future nearly everything I could’ve wanted was in one app. What makes me happier is that they seem to be working constantly on the app and additional features. Everyone around me was reluctant and set in their ways, not interested in this ‘new’ app of mine after spending holidays with the different people one for one they have made the switch to BirdPro and now enjoy it with me.

I purchased the full subscription for my daughter who is studying conservation. I had a small challenge with one of the features and made contact with the developers via WhatsApp. They responded immediately by calling me and reverted back a little later on the same day saying they found the problem and are fixing it. If this is the kind of service we can expect going forward then they have secured lifetime subscription from me. In a world where we hardly ever get to speak to the people who make decisions it was such a breath of fresh air. Well done!!

This app is a complete waste of money for a newbie like me wanting to learn more about birds. There are some birds in my garden. I have no idea what kind of birds they are. All I know is that make the most beautiful sounds. So I was looking for an app that I can use to record the birds in order to identify them because it is virtually impossible to take a photo of a bird sitting in a tree 60 meters away in order to identify the bird. This app does not have such functionality
