Penalty for Poor Sportsmanship
My wife was interested in the app and purchased a subscription. One of the benefits of the subscription was a free access for a friend to share books. Turns out, that the free access gives me a login so I can view the catalog (every book I have searched shows as locked) and be peppered with upgrade offers at every turn. I understand every company needs to make money to survive, I am disappointed with Blinkist for not being more honest with what they are offering and disheartened with yet another app that needs to constantly badger users to buy more. Give me the option in a menu to upgrade, I will find it if there is meaningful value in what you offer and decency in how you offer it.
Unauthorized Charge
They will charge you a full year and not respond. Not the best customer service

Disappointing- Not what you think
I thought I’d get unfiltered summaries of books, however you get the Blinkist editors philosophy and personal perceptions of the books. NOT what I expected or wanted. Cancelled after 1/2 day of use on first day, but no option but to pay for year subscription. Don’t recommend.
Waste of Money
App: Poor summaries that capture almost none of the stories or concepts. Poorly read by AI models.
Somehow auto renew was turned back on. Customer service took an entire month to respond then closed the ticket immediately. No support. Check out the competitor. Worth the extra cost
Scam
I was prompted to enter my Apple ID for the free trial. It billed me $139.00 cad yet I have no access to content, discounts upgrades. It says I do not have an account. When I try and create a new account it says the email is already in use.
I’m Done
I’ve used this product off and on for the past 5 years. While it certainly has a fan base, with A.I. developments this type of product is less necessary. I can get excellent book summaries via ChatGPT etc at no cost. As for their customer service - it may take a week or two to receive a response, if you get one at all. Unacceptable.
Time Saver
Great app to get the juice of most of the non-fiction books out there. Would give 5 star if the app is made more fluid in terms of scrolling.
