There are a lot of grammatical errors and typos- yes I recently checked for an update and I do have the most recent version installed. I was patient enough to bypass this oversight, but I immediately stopped using the app after realizing some of the questions are incredibly misleading and do not have the correct answers. For example, you answer 1 question with 1 answer on one of the tests, then when the same question pops up on another section (and choose the same answer) it marks it incorrectly. I am an amateur potential gun owner- meaning I was wanting to practice the FSC test before taking it and wanted to learn more about gun safety/operation/laws etc. and there was no way for me to know if any of the questions are correct now. I had a very knowledgeable gun owner run through some practice tests and they were unimpressed with the way questions were worded and were highly skeptical of some of the answers the app says are wrong/correct. Overall, it was an okay starting point but I vehemently cannot recommend this. My confidence in the accuracy of this practice/study guide is incredibly low and I have since found a more reputable app to guide me on the FSC test.
The previous reviews weren't joking. There are a lot of errors throughout this app, a majority of them are in the questions. They're mostly typos and grammatical errors. Sometimes the "answer" to the question is wrong, so when you answer right the app marks it wrong. Other than these critical errors, the app looks nice, it's easy to use and navigate, and works pretty much the way it should. The dev(s) probably worked their butt off to make this, so thank you. Would be nice to see an update pushed out by the dev(s) including some changes to the wording including more detail and attention to spelling and grammar.
Be completely free or not at all
Many missed spelled words and incomplete sentences but overall a decent training tool
The app is well designed and functional. Very little of the question/answer content is grammatically correct though. It’s as if it was converted back and forth with Google Translate.
I would have gotten 100% but the information is wrong. In California you have to be 21 to buy a rifle or a hand gun. Also it’s collecting a lot of data that it doesn’t need. I’ll look elsewhere in five years.
Works fine for a day, then after a day or two it locks you out saying “now you can only answer 10 random questions, if you want to see the rest - pay us $8”.
Update… Developer says they fixed all these issues… there are still issues that mislead you to incorrect answers. Example-“which of the following” makes you think there is one answer….but you should check all that apply. Also there is one question where the answer actually stops the test and quits the apps. Still not worth $8 except that there are no ads… Spelling, sentence structure, and context are so poor you are left to guess at an answer. Who wrote this stuff?
This app would deserve 5 stars if it wasn’t for some quality issues such as spelling errors or missing pictures. Overall, it is very closely aligned with the actual FSC test - this app helped me ace mine!
