CHANI: Your Astrology Guide

I’ve used this app for years and I love it, I recommend it all the time. However, sometimes the daily horoscope is waxing too poetic, and I don’t always get what they mean. Often times I need a quick read, and sometimes I have to read the horoscope out loud to get it. (For example: “require you to confront your deepest fears about exchanging resources”, what resources?? I’m confused. I own very little lol like most people, so how does that apply to most people?) Often times I’ll put a friends birth data in the app, and read their chart, and they’ll be confused by the phrasing of an aspect. I’m glad the Chani team loves writing in an artistic way - it does help to understand the meaning better. But it’d be better paired with clear statements.

I receive alerts on the phone and sometimes they disappear when i log in to the phone but i can never always pull up the alert on the app. The alerts are just a sentence and i believe something to keep a user addicted to the app bc theyre just some blaze line with no depth provided in the app and im a paid member. Shame on you!

I hope you don’t mind me framing this as a bit of a testimony—coming from someone raised in the Black church, that’s how we do! The CHANI app has been life-changing for me and my husband—we both absolutely love it. As someone who grew up in ministry, I’ve always been deeply connected to the divine. I have been following CHANI since my late 20’s (now in my early 40’s) and if this review were strictly for her, 5 stars, 20 stars. But I have to say the app feels cutesy and at times very specific - the same things that drove me away from Susan Miller (we don’t all own real estate or stock etc) I wish the app and the daily horoscopes would tune into broader archetypes that didn’t feel so literal and honestly just aren’t going to apply to many people.

I discovered CHANI on Instagram when I was going through a big transition and as many of the folks who leave reviews mention, it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. The posts led me to the app, which led me to a subscription and the rest is history. I love the recording, the text, the images, and the insights - my goddesses, the insights. I’ve been listening to the podcast for a while now and finally decided to treat myself to the app subscription. Reading all my current planetary descriptions were so validating and very nail on the head. Chani is a true talent!

Love everything about this app. I’ve never had the tools of astrology laid out in a user friendly and yet not floofy manner before. The science is made accessible and the in depth analysis checks all the boxes. Meditations are very helpful (especially Black Moon Lilith-more please!). After finally surfacing from a multi-year bout of deep melancholy I have learned that part of staying afloat requires constantly scheduling things to look forward to, and the Chani app effectively auto-pilots that for me! I live for my daily reading, and I have a standing appointment every Sunday to listen to my personalized readings for the week coming up. The New and Full moon meditations and alter suggestions help me find ritual every two weeks, which breaks up large stretches of time into manageable chunks so I can truly focus my energy on what is aligned with the current cosmic landscape. I have been a long time subscriber to Premium because it has been an investment in receiving support for so many layers and aspects of how I experience myself and my place in the world. Out walking my dog Cielo and listening to Chani's Nov 25th Astrology of the week ahead podcast, as I am wont to do most weeks, I found tears streaming down my face. Chani, whom I respect for her wise calming voice that connects me with the planets and affirms my wild rebellious Lilith side, said what I know is true but not enough people with a platform are saying right now. In a special prepodcast message, Chani named the reality that we will likely face since the recent election: facism, genocide, toxic masulinity and xenophobia on steroids are emboldened and plotting to attack. It takes courage given that some who are speaking up are losing their jobs. I am receiving weird hatemail--not "report to the plantation"---but hatemail implying people are keeping tabs on my dissenting views. Having Chani willing to partner to address these developments collectively means the world to me. Chani pledged to make recordings closer to political events as they are unfolding. I salute this exemplary courage and use of your voice, this unwillingness to do new age apolitical escapism. I feel all the love you and the team are sharing with us this week and every week.
