I stumbled across this app on instagram and am so happy I gave it a go, this is everything I have been looking for for to make my food shopping less of a hassle.
I have previously used hello fresh but I got frustrated with the fact that it sent you so many things that you already have and there was just so much waste. You also still had to do a shop for any snacks or household items.
With cherrypick you can remove ingredients you already have or switch ingredients that you don’t like. The app calculates how much of each item you need to buy based on how many portions you want of each recipe so there is no waste. You can then add any additional items you may need e.g. loo roll.
The recipes are great and well categorised e.g. batch cook, freezable etc. You can also add your own recipes so you are not always having to cook something new (a bug bare from hello fresh).
The app itself is designed really well, it is simple to use and looks great.
Really well done to the developers of this app, I wish more people knew about it!
Used to be good
Used all the time as I shop with Sainsbury’s however since it’s now a paid subscription I can no longer access the meals I previously added to my shop etc, will just go back to looking for recipes on line and adding to my normal Sainsbury’s shop like before
A shame
Was once free now every other recipe is behind a paywall. I am disabled and this app used to be so helpful for me. Now I have been priced out of using it. So disappointing.
Was great until the last update
This was a great app but after the last update I have lost all my saved recipes and all my shopping was deleted from my basket. It appears that you now have to pay to use the app. The company seem to have waited til they have good reviews and then started to charge. Disappointed!
Not Happy with Subscription
When Cherry Pick was known as Lollipop before and accessing recipe ideas was free. Now to access the recipe I want you have to subscribe to their membership. I’m not really happy with the idea of membership because we’re currently in a recession and a lot of people are budgeting. That is the whole reason why I downloaded lollipop now cherry pick to be able to save money. It doesn’t matter if it’s £3.49 a month. That money can be used towards savings or future bills.
Was an amazing app
This was an amazing little app until we had to start to pay, even for a very long list of past cooked meals time to go and look for something new.
Supermarkets were paying you, you had sponsored ingredients (which often were more expensive than other brands) just turned greedy, most recipes were from AI then you had some from BBC good food and other recipe books which was advertising
Ridiculous pricing.
Why Sainsburys thing they should charge people to use an app that encourages people to shop with them is beyond me.
BBC good food is only £24 a year. I’ll use that rather than pay £40 or £60.
Why don’t you bolt the recipe to trolley functionality on to the groceries app for people who have bought a smartpass?
Won’t use it anymore
Loved this app but won’t use it now I have to pay, even for all the recipes I’ve been using already. It was handy while it was free but it’s not worth paying for.
Shocking new mandatory subscription charges added overnight.
I’ve just bought ingredients yesterday for a meal in my saved recipes which I’ve ordered through the app previously (before it changed name to cherrypick), which now I can’t view unless I sign up to a monthly subscription. So now I have ingredients, and no recipe to follow. No warning of upcoming mandatory subscription coming into action. Thanks a bunch cherrypick. Download this app if you do NOT want to save money.
Did not need to become a subscription service
The free app was good, but not good enough to become a paid subscription. This is now turned into an app that I will delete.
