Couchsurfing Travel App

I would say Couchsurfing is one of the best life experience of my life. Thanks a million guys to create this amazing platform to connect the global community.

The community is so incredible and ive met amazing people! The search system sucks. Sometimes cities or towns with “2000” members only has 3 active people. I think, if people havent been active in over a year or 2, they shouldnt be included in the search results. Also! Sometimes cities are unsearchable. For example, Leon, the city of Nicaragua isnt searchable, on the state is searchable which is confusing and requires knowledge on how to use the search filters properly or else you will find no results.

The app has the basic section available to manage your profile, inbox and other sections. Main reason for score is that it's very laggy and slow and tends to require constant relaunching to work as features like hangout and search continuosly fail to load.

It’s been over a year since I’ve logged into my account and upon being charged for a new year of service and requesting a refund 2 days later, the company refuses to return money for services a customer isn’t using. It’s been a while since I’ve come across this and I find it a poor business practice in this day and age. Hoping my feedback saves future users the trouble.

I’m an 18year CS user, not a conspiracy nut but practical evidence driven person. CS App offers less than their website access, App has no coherent or logical approach. I’m deleting the App. Appears the main purpose of the App is to broker and sell your profile/user data, interests and activities, that’s what you consented to when you allowed to “link accounts” when installing the App. It’s your choice but ask yourself: Do I really need something that I already have better?

This app will trick you into paying an 87$ « verification » and then refuse to give you a refund. I now am stuck to take legal actions while travelling to get my money back. My friend who booked at the same time did the exact same mistake. Avoid this app at all costs.

Used to be popular from what I’ve heard about 5 years ago. If you go on, you’re immediately bombarded with a non-optional “Covid-donation” and then they force you to pay without clear terms or information for a membership. I was charged over $80! When I kindly requested my refund I was given an extremely rude response. Not couch surfer friendly! Also just checked and they are trying to charge an additional $19+ a year as well to maintain the membership? Even though the $80+ was supposed to be lifetime? Stay away from these scam artists!

Great app and concept! I’ve met so many cool ppl through couch surfing, and stayed with them in their central places in cities (which is my preference). I always read people’s reviews before requesting to stay with them, and it works well!!!

I wish CS could add the following features - Where the guest has stayed as many CouchSurfers move around and host in all their places they have been (for example I have welcomed guests in 5 different cities) - the number of nights the guest has stayed - possibly to update a stay when you host in case your guest shorten or need to stay longer. - a rating with stars Other than that the app is great even if it crashes sometimes. Love you
