~Brilliant~
I keep writing long-winded reviews for this program and losing them when I click away, so I’m going to keep this short. If you are new to coding: If you are new to downloading programs to use for learning/coding: If you have looked at all sorts of training programs online to learn Python: You have found the one resource you need to learn and practice a new skill! This program is the next best thing to having an instructor standing beside you. You get digestible packets of instruction, a bite-sized quiz, a bite-sized coding challenge, and positive reinforcement for completing work correctly. If you don’t get the coding challenge right, you can opt to see the solution—which is another bite-sized piece of instruction that answers all of your questions. Nothing is left to your imagination… Albert covers everything. But you always succeed. I love the way the lessons are laid out in the vertical interface with checkmarks to show where you’ve been and where you’re going. The scrollable concept explorer at the bottom is genius. You can do your coding challenges to see where you need more instruction, and you can choose to “Create”—I’ve used that section to try rewriting some things I’ve learned from memory. So useful. It’s all there, like conditioning shampoo that blowdries your hair and tells you you look really good, but never tells you you should be a model. The most authentic training tool I’ve found. I’ve had this program less than a day and have done lessons on my iPhone and iPad (it knows exactly where I am), and have even paid money to get more credits (you don’t need to pay money for anything—the lessons etc. are all available—but because the creator is so circumspect about the user experience, I actually want to give him money!) I value the format, the level of teaching, and the intuitive understanding—true understanding—about what constitutes an actual learning platform. I really wish other programs would focus less on personality or showmanship, and embrace and validate the details that work together in this package. It might not be exciting, but it truly feels like I stumbled across a gift. Bravo!!
