## eDrawings Pro Description
eDrawings® Pro is the professional 2D and 3D CAD collaboration app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch that can view native SolidWorks® files (part, assembly, drawings), eDrawings files and DraftSight® (DWG™, DXF™) files. You can easily view models and access configurations, drawing sheets, and exploded views for eDrawings files published from SolidWorks and all other supported CAD software.

Markup! Measure! Section!  eDrawings® Pro takes you to the next level of 2D and 3D collaboration with more functionality, including dynamic cross section views, measurements, markups & annotations and the unique ability to share it all by email! 

eDrawings includes Augmented Reality (AR). This allows you to view your 3D models in 1:1 scale into the real world. By simply activating the device’s camera, you can bring your virtual 3D designs in a real context and see them in situ, sitting on your desk or on your conference room table or even in the palm of your hand, through your iPad, Pad mini, iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen. Move around the room and see your design from any perspective.

With an intuitive user interface, eDrawings® Pro enables you to dynamically view cross sections of your models in XY, YZ, or ZX directions from both sides and easily drag the cross section plane on screen or with a convenient slider. You can also measure distances in your designs, with easy-to-use selection filters for faces, edges, vertices and holes.

With eDrawings® Pro you can create markups on your drawings, including text notes, freehand notations, dimensions, cross-section views, photos and camera snapshots. 

You can share your marked up eDrawings files with others for review and further comments. All markups with history are saved within the eDrawings file.

I use this app for work and find it very useful for marking up drawings in 3D when at meetings etc. AR is also a sure way to impress clients.

However the app isn’t updated quick enough for the latest SolidWorks releases and file formats. SolidWorks 2020 is now released and at the moment eDrawings cannot open 2020 files as yet.

Last year SW2019 released in October and it took until February for the iOS app to be updated.

iPad Pro... it crashes every time.  It’s a shame because I use pc based E drawings and solidworks and would love the option to view files on my iPad..

I have used the free version of this app for a while, but had a specific job that required the ability to turn the layers of a 2d drawing on or off.  The free app does not allow this, but I was sure such a basic feature would be included in the £10 version. Wrong!  Completely pointless purchase, and complete waste of money.

I find this app very useful to view models when travelling and to show other people the info.
One main thing thats missing is the ability to be able to simply save a screen image as a jpg so i can email this or use in a presentation.

I paid full price for the pro version as I really hope that Solidworks will reward its premium users with really attentive support and invaluable updates. This app, I hope, is realised by them as in its infancy and will go from strength to strength as updates come out.

As is the app does what it needs to do, albeit somewhat buggy. The AR is an amazing tool when you come up with a good use for it and the markups are fine but again both need a lot of care to make them useful and big performance enhancements especially for AR.

I'd recommend now but for the future I'd like to see Solidworks add some additional features for the mobile end if eDrawings that make it an incredible presentation tool as well as just a viewer. My clients have loved seeing their products in AR so far but let's see if we can go a step further.

Waste of money, typical solidworks bring something out without testing it, just like the real solidworks. 
Stick with the free one. The mark up: does not mark diameters, only displays m, can't draw straight line. 
The reason I bought this was so I could change the display state it did not work, it was only a assembly with 13 parts also it came up with a memory warning, I was using an ipad mini. 
Unless you want to measure I would stick with the free version.

### ****- "Great way to view SolidWorks files"
Downloaded today.  Works like a charm.  As it was on a 4th gen ipod I need to be aware of file size.  Not enough RAM to deal with files that are too large, but I'd take that into account when creating the original eDrawing from SolidWorks by adjusting the image quality of the file to as low as possible without going too far.

Bigger, newer devices will be better.  Eventually you will need your Mac or PC for massive file sets.  It is only a mobile device after all.

I thought that the added functions should have been provided to the standard version without having to pay for a pro version. I expected this to work but disappointed again. Unusable in my opinion, slow, the measure function has a mind of its own and the app crashes.

With all the bugs in the previous version, I was hoping this 'pro' version would iron some of them out.

First EASM I attempt to open gives me a memory error and the App then crashes. This is with no other Apps running and a fresh iPad restart.

Have never expected much quality from Dassault, but a working App is bare minimum. They should take a page out of Autodesk's book.

Recommend not to buy this App until it becomes usable.
