I just got an iPad and I tried all the “popular note taking apps” but I wasn’t satisfied with the way my handwriting turned out it was always messy even tho I knew it wasn’t my handwriting itself it never appealed to me. But this app! I’m so glad I found it it’s a hidden gem! Writing on this app with my pencil is soooo smooth and my writing is exactly how I write on an actual paper I love that it glides smoothly and doesn’t glitch I just got the pro version and I’m so happy thank you I hope this app gets the recognition it deserves 🤍
 
Hi 👋 so far it’s good however my fonts change automatically back to the original font even tho I changed it it’s kind of annoying cause it ruins the words I highlighted. And when I write with the pencil sometimes it writes way to boldly (I’m applying no pressure) even tho my setting is only set to 0.9 it gives me uneven words some letters are too bolded than others

ANOTHER UPDATE; nov 4 2024 this lags a lot , even the eraser lags like crazy then the app shuts down… plzzz fix this this is my favourite app for university plsss

### ***-- "Great app which is missing key features"
This is an amazing app, but it lacks a lot of key features that I would need in order to make the switch from GoodNotes. For example, there is no PDF outline viewe, no way to copy/paste screenshots from a PDF file with the lasso tool, and no scribble-to-erase. These are critical tools that I use every day. Also, GoodNotes supports barrel roll for the fountain pen and Apple Pencil pro, and you can customize the pens in GoodNotes, such as the tip shape of the fountain pen. Once this app has a few more of the key features of more mature handwritten notes apps, I will definitely be making the switch from GoodNotes.

I felt uncomfortable when I write down something, there is a pause  which look like a paste to the paper. I hope the whole process is like using a “real” paper.

This app is my favourite note taking app, its the only app I could find that has the fountain pen option. Makes my printing so beautiful, love all of the options I can use for note taking like the highlighting, stickers, adding my own pdf’s etc. definitely recommend 10/10

Great app for notes, but does not safe any pictures added. At first looked like everything works. When app is closed and reopened it doesn’t show any pictures any more.

### ****- "Great, no frills note taking"
Nicely done: simple, clean, and no featuritis. Reminds me of GoodNotes before they lost their way (sorry, I don't need AI to read, fix, or correct my HANDWRITTEN notes...). 

One thing however: search is completely broken for me. Not a huge deal for now, but I'm hoping this gets fixed at some point. For the record, Notes, Notability, and GoodNotes can all search or convert my handwriting without issues (despite it being pretty horrible).

Happy to have found this. Looking forward to how the app evolves.

### ****- "Would make the switch if not for one caveat"
I just really wish the lasso tool would also select the background and not just handwritten notes, stickers, images, etc.

Not being able to copy a portion of a math equation and paste it somewhere else is too big a deal breaker for me when taking notes for school.

However, the automatic dark/light mode conversion is amazing, and having the same gesture system as procreate is something I don’t understand why more note-taking apps don’t copy. The basic pen tool also just feels really satisfying to use compared to the competition; it just looks fantastic, and follows what my hand is wanting to do.

Certain features like creating bookmarks and REDOing are for some reason hidden behind at least 1 too many menus. But honestly the feeling of writing in this app justifies the little kinks and quirks. I just really, REALLY, wish it had a better lasso tool.

TL:DR let me copy anything in my notes with the lasso tool.

Great app for note taking in grad school. It is very helpful that the fountain pen smooths my messy handwriting! I am really enjoy the gradient highlighters and dark mode. A new feature I would love to see is the option to export pdfs in the appearance of dark mode (I.e. retain the black background and colours visible in dark mode). I frequently move notes between my Mac and iPad, so it would help me if there was an option for appearance of the exported file to look the same as when I made the notes (in dark mode). Thank you for considering my suggestion!

This app tops all the other note taking app like GoodNotes 5, Notability and OneNote because it does not have the M2 hover jitter bug that all the developers are talking about. It actually supports the hover feature, supports 2/3 tap for undo and redo just like Procreate. It even has pen stabilization settings for optimal customization. It just need folder within folder feature and it’ll be the king forever. Update 2023-09-07: It’s over! They just added sub-folders. This is now the king app for note taking. WOOOOOO

I have enjoyed using this app for less than a week, up until yesterday when all of a sudden I can’t export my file and the screen keep freezing on me. I sync all my data to iCloud but when I tried to uninstall and reinstall it again everything was synced in aside from my most important note - my school note which the app wont allow me to export and when I reinstall the app it was gone. I don’t know how to recover it. I tried contacting the developer to no avail. This is devastating.
