Everand: Audiobooks & Ebooks

CarPlay app is not loading my Audiobooks nor playing them from the CarPlay app. I need to select and start everything from my phone! Please work on the CarPlay app

SCRIBD used to be this Amazing app where you could find almost any book for one single subscription! Then Everand bought it and things started to change! The number of books you can read or listen to are limited now! THEY DECIDED WHAT YOU CAN OR CANNOT LISTEN TO OR READ! I am soooo disappointed!!! I rather pay 5.- $ more to get back to the way it was but Everand really ruined it!!!

Few new bugs in the last update. The app doesn’t react to AirPods controls sometimes. Pauses itself quite often, now I see the pop up about “improvements in my saved books” and it asks me to download now or over Wi-Fi ( even when I am on Wi-Fi). But the funny thing is it says the updates size is Zero kb.

It’s sick the idea that I cannot choose a different payment method besides App Store payment. This kind of monopoly should be forbidden.

After you read a few books the others on your list become unavailable until next billing date! Shady advertising for “unlimited” accesses!

Update II - whilst the issue of audiobooks crashing was finally resolved the last straw was when I lost access to an audio book I was listening too , I presume because I was deemed to be over using the service and hence throttled. This was the last straw so I will be canceling my subscription. Great in theory - terrible in practice Update - despite emailing scribd on the below got no response! My only way to get a response is maybe this review ? Here’s hoping....really disappointing. It is so annoying that the audiobooks hardly ever play. It simply gives an error message .

Very crappy app. I think I must now stop my 2 year old subscription. App crashes and freezes my ipad pro. Deleting and installing the app several times hasn’t helped. Very disappointed.

Eine Frechheit. Das Abo stornieren ist unglaublich mühsam und kompliziert und nachdem ich bereits storniert hatte wurde mir immer noch Geld abgezogen.

In spite of negative rewievs on App Store, installed the app. Found that the Scribd marketeers follow an antique payment model, with automatic prolongation of a "free" trial period (for which you pay with your data and your search behavior). Use of PayPal is restricted to Paypal accounts linked to a credit card, which for me is a no-go (why use PayPal at all if a CC is ultimately needed?). Since use of the app's functionality can only be tried after payment method is estalished, I can't comment on that. Neither ist the quality of the content a topic of this review. Deleted the app since I couldn't check it out. The marketing concept of Scribd is not very futurebound, I think. Too bad, since Amazon etc. should really get some professional competition.
