I love that this app includes visual strategies for teaching the facts, and that it allows learners to focus on the facts one at a time. I wish it also had a flash cards setting where you could decide which facts you’d like to add to your deck of flash cards so that you can focus on specific sets of facts at one time, rather than all at once, or one at a time only. My bigger complaint is that some of the games freeze, or never offer a workable solution (such as the slingshot games that never give you the solution to the presented problem as an option for something to shoot at.) Also, the slingshot games require a remarkable amount of hand-eye coordination that my students find frustrating, and since there is no way to bypass a game that you can’t beat, your progress on the path toward learning a particular fact gets halted. This happens both when you encounter a bug that causes the game to freeze or be impossible to win, or when a student lacks the coordination to win. There also need to be more consequences for wrong answers in games to discourage blind guessing, otherwise students can eventually pass a level just by popping every balloon, for example, as they are never forced to restart after a certain number of errors. I think that this app is a fantastic idea and a great start. In the next update, I’d like to see some bug fixes and some more thought towards ensuring students do pass the levels because they have learned the content (not because they are wildly guessing) and students who know the material aren’t held back due to a lack of coordination. Thank you!
I’m a mom and a math teacher and this app is perfect for my 4th grader who needs just a little bit more help to master her multiplication facts. Helps student understand what multiplication is plus repetition and tricks to help reach mastery and fluency. You can select different multiplication facts to review—for example 8’s are a common one to struggle with so you can work on activities that focus just on the 8’s. I like that it’s not a monthly subscription—just a one time affordable price for full access to all the app.
Thank You So Much!I love this app!🦄
