You need to have “contracts” to have players play on your team. Just cuz you unlocked them doesn’t mean you get to use them . Once the contract ends you need to either buy more contracts or WATCH ADS. Imagine watching 11 ads every 3 matches you play. Insane.

At first glance, FIFA Rivals feels like a win. Crisp graphics, smooth gameplay, and a clean, easy-to-navigate interface. It’s basically Score! Hero in a FIFA jersey, and for a few flicks, it’s actually fun.

But then you unlock the Gold Pack… and the game hits you with the dreaded timer.
Eight. Real-life. Hours.
For a digital pack that’ll likely give you a 61-rated defender with two left feet and a dream of joining the MLS. Unless there’s a real-life Messi inside waiting to FaceTime me, it’s just not worth the wait.

Sure, it looks and feels great. But once you scratch past the polish, it’s the same tired pay-to-win model we’ve seen a hundred times before, just sprayed with FIFA cologne to cover the lack of substance.

By the time that pack is ready, you’ve forgotten the game, questioned your life choices, and probably gone back to actual FIFA, where at least the heartbreak comes in 4K.

Final verdict: 3 stars.
One for the visuals.
One for the fluid controls.
And one for the idea of what it could’ve been.
