## FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion Description
The official FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion app helps you keep in touch with your friends and prepare for adventure, anytime, anywhere! Access your in-game friend list, chat with fellow adventurers, make and share plans using the event list, manage your items, browse the market board, and assign retainer ventures!

Please note that an active service account and subscription for FINAL FANTASY XIV are required to use this app. 
Please also note that some features such as chat can still be accessed for the first 30 days after your subscription for the main game has expired. You will lose access to all features after this period.

Chat with other players who are using the companion app; your in-game friends, Free Company and Linkshell members, and more!

- Event List
Create, edit, and manage scheduled events, bringing your friends together to take on raids, trials and more!

- Item Management
Sort, move, sell, or discard your items with the tap of a button! 
*Please note that item management via the FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion app is not available while logged into the game with the associated service account.

- Market Board
Items can be purchased or listed for sale on the market board through the use of in-app currencies: Kupo Nuts or Mog Coins. Kupo Nuts can be obtained as login bonuses and Mog Coins are available as in-app purchases. Please note that access to the market board via the FINAL FANTASY XIV Companion app is not available while logged into the game with the associated service account.

Spend Kupo Nuts or Mog Coins and assign retainer ventures, anytime, anywhere!

Many, many years ago when I was playing World of Warcraft, their app allowed me to see all my gear along with a 3D model of my character that I could rotate. This has been there for years. Here, we get a JPEG of our character in a clunky app that A) may as well be a webpage disguising itself as an app and B) barely works. Please get this app up to 2025 standards. The game has been around for years, and having this as the official companion is a bit of a low-point for Squenix.

You can’t do anything in this app without some form of currency. Kupo nuts, mog coins, etc.

Making a single listing on the market board? Currency.

Sending a retainer on a single venture? Currency.

This app is an insult given the already pricy subscription. 

It’s just wild how much the app charges for very basic actions. It would be easier/cheaper to install a remote control program for my PC, rather than wasting anything in this app.

Most of the features on this app seem better provided elsewhere.  I tried the app to see if I could get information on my retainer sales.  From what I can tell, you can see how many items are being sold by each retainer - otherwise, no.  The loading times are long and changing between characters is even slower.
Market actions (buying and selling) cost in app currency - and you are given very little, so you would have to buy more if you wanted to use the app for trading.

This app does practically nothing that can’t be done in game, only it does so with a janky and confusing interface, and it wants you to pay continuously in real currency for the privilege.

Worse, major pieces of utility don’t even work when you’re actually logged in to play the game, even though that’s the only time I ever use it.

Also, it logs you out. Often. And with unhelpful error messages. As though we care about app internals as it screws up. 

This is Square Enix’s worst product. Avoid.

The design of the app is decent but it is unreasonable to limit free actions to 1-2 a day considering we are already paying a subscription. This app is a waste of your time, the only useful features you can actually use for free (event calendar and chatting with friends / FC members) you can easily do elsewhere and better. Want to list an item on the markets that’ll cost you a Moogle nut or a coin which you get 2 for free a day. After that though you’re charged $1.20 USDper coin to use 1 action! Want to buy an item from the markets, yep you guessed it. 1 coin. Want to list items from your retainer on the markets, that will be $1.20 per listing thank you. This application is a waste of time and a huge cash grab for players who are ALREADY paying a monthly subscription. It’s insulting.

Literally cannot log into the application, at least I think I can’t. When I logged in, it says I have no characters on my Square Enix account. I have 2.

Then I tried changing my password. I’ve now changed it three times and the app won’t let me sign in.
