Limited functionality
I really enjoy my FT subscription, however, I have stopped using the app and returned to visiting FT through my browser. Reason? The app doesn’t add any functionality to your experience; on the contrary. To give an example, when using the app, you cannot zoom in on pictures, something you can easily do when using your browser. This is a limited functionality especially when using the app on a small screen device such as your phone.
Interesting Comments
The Comments are what I read. Everything else is noise.
Exceptional Daily Poorly Served by Weak App
The FT is one of the best newspaper in the western world. What a shame that its digital format is massively sub-par. Try retrieving any past article you missed when it was publishing. Good luck with that, except if you have the title word for word. The search function is abysmal. This is not acceptable in the age of Google and ChatGPT
Please change text width on iPad
The app is really difficult to read because the text is too wide. In portrait mode on iPad the line width spans the entire width of the screen making it uncomfortable to read. Not a problem with the size of the text but how wide the line is. Please allow users to change it.
Brilliant
Perhaps the best digital face of any paper. Unending and timely offering with superb journalism. Always a pleasure!
Waste of money
The articles are good, and the AI reading is great, but app has lots of underlying issues… cannot be used offline it crashes so often that you want to ask for your money back! Don’t expect to be read the article while I have no connection, but at the very least have the option of reading myself… it’s in need of proper testing before releasing the versions!
Format
I don’t like the live format
Just what you expect from a top source of news
Top content, easy to navigate through App.
Ft
Mixed quality of articles and writers, there’s some great and some lazy&misleading. A paper that has the ft’s self-opinion should have consistency. It does not . The only paper that does , in the world, is the NZZ. Worth analysing how they do it
Glitchy
Every time I exit an article by clicking the back button it sends me to the top of the main page and loses my scroll progress. Incredibly irritating
