I would have expected that I could view at least one map before I pay for a subscription. I think I would be interested in this app, but without being able to see anything other than a few thumbnail pictures first, I will never know. There was a very short preview which looked promising, but it disappeared after a few seconds and I couldn’t get back to it. Until they can show me a bit more without committing myself, I will stick to Google Earth: If it was any good, they would know that after seeing one impressive clip, we would want to see other places. So as we don’t get this opportunity, I would assume it is not that good. However, I can’t definitively say whether the maps are good or not because I can’t get past the menu screen without paying $6.99 a month for the premium service. This is a let down, because the game is “free to play,” with the extra paid package for if you like what you see. I get the company aspect of apps, people have to be paid and the lights must be kept on. But when an app is “free” with “in-game purchases,” I expect some content to be available from the get-go. All I have to go off of is a blank, black screen and ads that might not be representative of the final product, so I don’t like what I see. All I see is a giant hand reaching for my wallet while I have no idea what I’m getting back.
