## FreeStyle Libre 3 - CA Description
The FreeStyle Libre 3 app is cleared for use with FreeStyle Libre 3 system sensors.

The newest member of the FreeStyle Libre family is the most advanced continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology designed to help you make progress:

•  Your glucose in real time, anytime [1].
•  Be notified the minute glucose is too low or too high. Optional alarms[2] help you know when to take action.
•  Real-time readings updated every minute—5x faster than any other CGMs[3].
•  Get detailed reports, including your time in range, to better understand your glucose trends and patterns.

COMPATIBILITY
You can only use the FreeStyle Libre 3 app with FreeStyle Libre 3 system sensors. It is not compatible with the FreeStyle Libre or FreeStyle Libre 2 Family of Sensors.

APP INFORMATION
The FreeStyle Libre 3 app is intended for measuring glucose levels in people with diabetes when used with FreeStyle Libre 3 system sensors. For more information on how to use the FreeStyle Libre 3 app, please refer to the User’s Manual.

[1] A 60-minute warm-up is required when applying the sensor. 
[2] Notifications will only be received when alarms are turned on and the sensor is within [30 feet or 10 metres] unobstructed of the reading device. You must enable the appropriate settings on your smartphone to receive alarms and alerts. See the FreeStyle Libre 3 User’s Manual for more information. [3] The user’s device must have internet connectivity for glucose data to automatically upload to LibreView.

Im quite, disappointed with the app for Freestyle Libre 3 plus. No scan option when it disconnects, I have to turn on and off my bluetooth to reset connection. I thought this would be more user friendly and advanced than Freestyle Libre 2. The sensor itself is good, small compact and not bulky under clothes. But the app 👎. Hoping the creators of this app listens to the consumer’s suggestions to make the app more reliable for all devices. It’s very disappointing.

I have to download 4 apps to get the functionality I want because this app fails at providing what I can “basic functionality”.

I expect an Apple Watch complication, like Nightguard has.

I expect a home screen widget like Gluroo has.

I expect immediate import of data into Apple Health so my data isn’t just lost, and so I can compile my entire health profile into one place.

Really disappointed.  This system isn’t at the level it needs to be.  I can’t justify buying more of these sensors.

I used the freestyle 2 for a couple of years, now it’s my 4th week of using the 3th version and they no longer enclose the alcohol wipes and I had to purchase them, the sensor fall off after using it for 12 days never happened with the gsecond generation it even looks like cheap also the software is really bad.

Fairly easy app to use most days (but please bring back manual scan… takes a while to bring signal back otherwise).   But How am I supposed to use this app as a diary to show my doctor or pharmacist about my trends beyond a few weeks to months if not saved on Apple Health app or on this app?
Plus, should update or modernize a bit of this app where readings will appear on my Lock Screen and my Home Screen stack like Dexcom app does.

This app absolutely needs a direct-to-Apple Watch feature, saving having two apps running simultaneously and thus being redundant.

It also desperately needs a “Widget” option, as well as being able to tie in results from the app into the Health App (you can’t add Libre 3 in the Health App).

ALSO needs the ability to “slide back” on the graph to be able to retroactively input comments or data like insulin dosing/carbs. I want to be able to see the exact reading an hour ago when it spikes, for example. The Libre Link Up app does this - sometimes you just don’t have time in the moment to open the app and add a note, but having the capability of adding it later would be a huge plus.

The biggest drawback for upgrading to libre 3 is the no manual scan.  Whoever approved the removal of manual app scan clearly has no understanding of how technology works.  

So many times I am away from the phone or playing some sport.  During sports, blood glucose trends are extremely important as they help me plan the next hour.  Unfortunately, I now have to wait for the signal to be back.  I hope the person who approved the removal the manual scan gets some common sense through their head.

This device has so much potential to be amazing, but some extremely annoying developer oversights have been made. The worse of which is removing the manual scan option. I am not always near my phone and sometimes I even need to shut it off both of which disrupt the Bluetooth connection and unfortunately the sensor doesn’t alway automatically reconnect. This would easily be fixed by allowing the user to manually scan. I had to delete the app and re-add it to get the option to scan (something I had to figure out on my own because customer service didn’t tell me). The other issue is the removal of the Log Out option which would have been easier than deleting the app and re-adding it…what kind of app doesn’t allow the user to sign out? iPhone 14 Pro iOS 18.6.2

Sensor is shutting itself down constantly. Does this app not what with the new iOS 26 Beta. I have just switched to freestyle from Dexcom G6. I have not had a sensor last more than 8 days. With the most recent one lasting 12hrs. Fix you garbage products.

Very very annoying to not be able to scan to reconnect the sensor, especially with the recent issues iOS 26 is having with Bluetooth connectivity. Don’t know why this feature was ever removed.

Libre 3 has been ok. It’s smaller but now doesn’t come with an alcohol wipe for application which I was surprised by as Libre 2 comes with two and 3 none? I was hopeful that there wouldn’t be a 10 minute recalculation with Libre 3 but unfortunately it still does this. I found when sugars go high or low quickly (which is when you need it the most). I have had issues where it doesn’t alarm for me or my spouse. The app also freezes and in order to unfreeze you have to click into home and back into add note to fix. I think it would also be better if you could input info through apple carplay as it is available but not for you to input carbs. Needless to say it’s better but still has issues that Abbott could definitely improve on.
