After jumping through all the hoops to get into the app to be told app not active. ‘DELETE’
Just downloaded this today, and trying to add Ozempic to the meds. The only dosage periods are 1-6 times a day, versus once weekly. So, I had to turn off its monitoring. I was also told by my physician to measure my blood sugar about 2 hours after a meal, but preferably at least once in the morning and once before I go to bed. But the app pinged me to take a measurement almost immediately after eating. There also doesn’t seem to customize the blood sugar range - my doctor wants me to control it in a more narrow range than the average. Lastly, the photo of food seems to be a great tool but maybe I am not using it right to measure a mixed ingredient meal like stew to capture quantities of each ingredient. I will let you all know if my experience improves.
Free app got great points for ability to track not only glucose, meds, BP, A1c, etc. BUT can’t generate bi-monthly reports any longer on the free app. To generate reports requires an email address. Mine has been deleted and I’m not able to re-enter it. I’ve sent an email to support with no reply after a week. I can only assume this is because I don’t subscribe, i.e. I’m a freeloader.
This app is extremely handy when it comes to helping me log food, carbs and insulin. It helps me keep track of when to give insulin and how much, counting carbs etc. Been using it for years BUT: Needs an update! It can no longer find any barcode that I scan, and when I actually am able to log carbs, the carb count is incorrect. Ex: if I’m eating 45 carbs of rice, the app keeps trying to turn that 45 count into 1600. Please fix these bugs so that we can accurately log our carb count. :)
The food library has a large amount of poor food carb data. However or whoever is building the library is allowing items to be revised/changed without notice.

After getting out of the hospital less than 2 months ago: I’ve been able to lose 31.2lbs (as of today) and taken my a1c down almost 2%. It’s very easy to use; keeps track of my glucose levels, body weight, calorie intake, counts macros. I literally tell everyone, I couldn’t have done this well for this long had it not been for this app. No fast food or take out. Knowing I’d have to log that in the app, makes me want to go eat something healthy from my own kitchen! Thank you!
This is great and helpful and has been essential in my 4 1/2 year, diabetic journey. I do suggest it but also suggest looking for something else. Occasionally this app gets bug fix updates although even that is rare. In fairness the app has always been VERY stable. There was an issue once and it was fixed in very quickly. It’s missing a number of things. For example when I add a medicine you are asked how often you take it. You can pick once a day to six times a day. Where is the option for “X” times a week or month. You also need to include the medicine’s unit. There is no option for ml. Many people pay for this app. No major features have been added to the app in a long time. How about a some widgets and an Apple Watch app? I’m not sure I have a reason to use this app. There are others out there that can track your BG and meds for free including the built in Apple Health app. This app does offer some other features and if you use them regularly that’s fantastic. I don’t so why am I paying for this? I also don’t use their monitor I use what’s covered by my health insurance.
This single tool has helped me lower my A1C from 10.2 to 8.4 to 7.5 so far in three months. I just could not seem to learn how to count Carbs before this. I have done so well that my daily Lantus Insulin requirement has dropped from 50 to 25 in the past three months. I am also walking 2 miles per day, and Glucose Buddy even keeps track of that. I can hardly wait to see my Doc in two weeks with my new me.
Glucose buddy makes my life so much easier. No more tracking with pen and pencil. I love all the great options. The only thing I would like to see is a GKI conversion when glucose & ketones are logged.
