GN Control

I try to use this App for my Gold Note DS-10 streamer/DAC. It has to be the single worst mobile app I’ve ever used. It drops every few minutes and then the App crashes. How this thing ever made it to market is beyond me. It is unreliable, buggy and just not remotely ready for commercial use. I love the Gold Note streamer when it works. But that is rare.

Amazing, with Qobuz its an amazing sound. On the app works perfectly, BUT, please do a landscape layout for iPad, it’s really irritating having to look at 90 degrees to the keyboard.

Controlling the DS-10, this app is flawless. Easy to navigate and intuitive, the GN Control app connects quickly and stays connected without the occasional drop offs and dead ends that so many apps have. Only thing GN could improve is the volume. Ability to bump up and down in dB increments would be nice.

L app di per se è ben fatta, ma amancano delle skill semplicissime che si trovano in tutti gli streamer di fascia bassa, che sn utilissime, come la funzione timer, e la funziona spegnimento automatico dopo x tempo di inattività. Sembra una sciocchezza, ma se vuoi ascoltare la musica mentre sei a letto e magari addormentarti, al risveglio troverai ancora il dac acceso (nonostante l amplificatore che lo prevede invece sia già bello che spento). Ore di corrente sprecata (segnalato il problema più volte, ma nessuna intenzione di risolvere). Ottimo prodotto ma……

Very good app. I have a ds10 and it works well with my Music server and Qobuz. I love the sound and the dac function of the goldnote ds10 but could be better as a streamer if the app would be improved. I suggest to fix some issues: 1) a lot of wav hd files from upnp server cannot be reproduced. The app reports that there is an error. Reproducing the same file from a Mac though the ds 10 dac no problems at all. So is a problem of the app. 2) Wi-Fi settings issues: with ds 10 cable wired connection is perfect but the same is not for Wi-Fi that is slow to set and connect after the device was switched off . I think this is also a fault of the OS on goldnote ds10. Implementation of more streaming services such as Apple Music and Amazon Music would be positive to improve a product which is already very good. More importantly would be an advantage over the rivals in the streamer’s market.
