Great app, (two things)

Jacobasker on

Schweden

Just started using the app and I am very happy with it. Simple and effective way to save links. But there are two things I really wish the app had. 1. Being able to mark down text while reading so after I am finished I can review points I think are important. 2. Text to speech would be super useful. Not really an essential but nice to have:) Also, is there a way to open a youtube in the actual youtube app from the link in GoodLinks? Haven’t found a way yet. Best regards from Sweden

Bought it as I assumed it had RSS-support as any app of this kind should have. It didn’t :(

How a “local first” read it later app outshines most competitors

I’ve been a happy (and therefore loyal) user of GoodLinks on every Mac I’ve been using these last years (I don’t dare estimating the number though—we’re living in strange times…). GoodLinks is one of five or six extensions I need to have installed right from the get go in order to use Safari. That’s true for my iMac and MacBook Air, and equally if not more important for the last couple of iPads I’ve been enjoying using. That’s good enough, not least for a browser extension. However, GoodLinks is a full feathered all by itself and it does excel at being somewhat plain and simple at first glance. GoodLink looks and feels like something built by a true Apple developer, with an intuitive feeling and deep know-how of what makes these two platforms great — and how third party apps ought to behave and function. I couldn’t be happier. No pesky IAP subscription which drives someone like me away after a while as well as the majority of all regular users. I’d be happy to pay for software. But GiodLinks is less about paying for server-side storage and computing and a lot more about building your own read it later collection. Tags, organization, the content itself — its saved on your local device. (Yes, it sounds like sci-go, but these things are apparently possible with today’s computing power… 😉) Features are consistent on macOS as well as iPadOS—even the UI is instantly recognizable with the same paradigms. To me, this is one of the hardes things to pull off for an app supposed to be on two or more platforms with different input methods, screen sizes and general form factors. Hats off 👏 Just to end my rambling ovation: It’s not just on the Mac and iPad I trust in GoodLinks to quickly import whatever I stumble upon online via Safari. It’s on my iPhones as well. I believe I have owned at least three different models, all with different screen sizes and dimensions, Touch or Face ID, big talk screens and one smaller with a 9/16 form factor. Here’s a shocker: it’s equally important for me in iPhone and more impressively, it works flawlessly there. In fact, I’d trust GoodLinks a lot more than any web browsers own built in bookmarking features. That sounds like a slogan. I swear it didn’t come about like that, but feel free to use it. 😉 — @celebritarian

Love having all my read later articles in my own depository and able to export them in different ways to process those I choose for specific projects. 👍🙏

Best read later app!

Been a longtime Instapaper user but then found this app and was pleasantly surprised. While instapaper is good it just feels outdated and old. GoodLinks gives a much fresher feel and offers a lot more customization and options, iCloud sync also works great. It is also way better than Pocket which just feels intrusive at this point. This is definitely my new go-to app for saving links and reading later! Update: Now it supports log in for paywalled sites as well making it even better. Best app read later app available right now, hands down. If I had one thing to complain about it would be the lack of the Seravek font, a font available in safari reader view which I personally prefer when reading. Update: Boom! Seravek font (and others) added in the latest update, thanks so much!!!

I don’t know how much we have a lot to say about you and I miss your time with me

Hi there

Best one out there

Elier Alonso on

This is the app I’ve been searching for. After trying almost every other app available, I decided to give this one a try. The main reason I chose this app over others is its simplicity. Most of the other apps I tried were subscription-based and quite expensive, which I’m not a fan of. Apart from the price, the app is top-notch and offers a range of great features that perfectly cater to my needs. Here are some of the features I like about the app: - Nested tags: These are fantastic for keeping my content organized. - Highlights and exporting to my notes app: These are incredibly useful features. - Widgets: These are excellent for keeping my screen clutter-free. - Minimalist UI and fast response: The app has a clean and user-friendly interface, and it responds quickly to my actions. Overall, I’m very impressed with the app and would highly recommend it. It’s a great value for the price, and it offers a ton of features.

Must have

This is one of those old fashioned app that don’t costs a ton and yet provides unprecedented quality of what’s doing. I’ve tried almost all of this kind of apps in AppStore, many of them made well in terms of sorting and storing the saved data, a lot of them has an option to download whole article to you device. Almost none of them doing that reliably enough, this one does. This was the main reason to stick with this one long ago, but then this thing got evolved to a literally absolutely perfect read later app beating all of its competitors effortlessly. I mean the nested tags, the notes, dozen options to export all of it. It’s a bless.

Love this app

I’ve been looking for a bookmarking/reading app for awhile, and I haven’t been able to find one I really enjoy. Not to mention they are usually expensive subscriptions. GoodLinks is everything I want an app to be - private and secure, slick native experience on multiple platforms (iOS, iPad and Mac), very stable and reliable. This pricing structure is what every app should have. No subscription, but a fair model with a one-time cost and optional paid upgrades.

GoodLinks is the best! Highly recommended!

TheHiggsBoson on

This is easily one of my favorite and most used apps. I personally love GoodLinks for the ability to save and organize articles offline in order to read later or use as references. I also like that it is basically a pay once, use forever type deal rather than a subscription model. I would rate the app a 10/10 and would not hesitate to recommend it. However, I do hope features like the ability to search for keywords within a saved article, to edit the thumbnail of articles, to edit the text of saved articles, and to underline text instead of highlighting it are added someday. The lack of these features is not really a big deal, but it would be a good improvement if they were added eventually. Also please give us the ability to capitalize letters used in hashtags.
