Google Calendar: Get Organised

PROS: You can long-press on a time to create an event. The drag-and-drop function makes rescheduling events easy. Tap on the address and it will go to Google Maps, which is very useful. Repeat options are great - for example, you can have it repeat on the third Wednesday of each month, or the same date. Display options provide plenty of flexibility. Regular updates to squash bugs and improve the experience. HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER: When marking a reminder as “done” it should sync to the iPhone, so that we don’t get a reminder to do something that’s already been done. Get rid of the “SAVE” button - the app should save automatically, just like other Google apps. Allow us to add notifications after an event has started, instead of before. Expand the notification options, so that we can, for example, add a notification 90 minutes before the event. The icon should show the current day and date, just like Apple’s Calendar app, instead of just saying “31”. When typing in the search bar, it should show results as you type, without having to type enter. When creating/editing an event, the “More options” button should be named “repeat options” so that it isn't hidden. Add the option to add a notification after the event starts - some events go all day and we might want to go there sometime in the middle. Have each colour of the rainbow available, and rename the colours to their normal names: for example, instead of tomato, call it red. When editing an event to add a notification, show a button to set it at the time of the event - we shouldn’t have to custom-set it to 0 minutes/hours. Add the duplicate option, which is available for events, to reminders. Add an undo button for undoing actions like deleting recurring events. CONCLUSION: A good app, with some room for improvement - 4 stars.

Can’t view PDFs sent via invite, when you click on them, it takes you to an online version of gmail where you have to search for the invite and click on to view attachments.. annoying, please fix!!

Updated the app and now almost all of my events are gone. It’s as if it has synced to some many years ago version. The same appears when I look on the computer. And there is no help facility…. Just ithers on the help forum reporting the same thing and no response from google.

Recently moved from readdle calendar app to this after it moved to subscription based. Can't fault it, great app for free👍🏻👍🏻

Easy to edit but poor recognition of handwriting by Apple pen especially for words in English not used in western countries.

Better widgets!!!! A big one like the iPhone iOS big widget where it shows the calendar events for today and the days after. Also the colours of the Google calendar laptop and iPhone app are so different when the colour is lighter. Change this pls! Pls make the colours match no matter what. However when the colour is darker they appear to be similar. Do this pls thanks

It really annoys me that I have to see all Australian holidays without being able to only see the ones in my state. Other than that, the connection between emails and the calendar is really good and handy.

Sigh, Google, where do I start. Probably just read my record for your other apps. On the upside you don’t bother me with useless, superfluous release notes like LinkedIn, Expedia or Spotify. On the downside: All you every say is that you fix bugs. Seriously? In all these years you’ve never added any useful feature or made an improvement worth mentioning? SMH 🤦

i love this app, it’s perfect for my needs, but i think widgets for the lock screen would be amazing!! they have one for the apple calendar but obviously i use google calendar and i’d like to see my upcoming tasks from the home screen :)

Would love a full year view and it would be AMAZING if the app icon could show what day it is. I have used this to replace the iPhone Calendar and it’s one feature I massively miss!!!
