Apparently Google isn’t powerful enough to keep track of multiple holidays after doing so for many years. How can I trust them with anything else?

Google Chat is by far the worst app that I’ve used in recent memory. Hangouts was great. Everything was snappy and responsive. Google Chat is genuinely one of the worst-functioning PC applications I’ve ever used.

I tried so many things to get this app to work and it doesn't even download. I have a really good phone I just can't download this app!!

if google implements a feature, threads in this case, they need to offer an option to disable it. we used Chat as a family gathering space but google is alienating the generations here. Terribly implemented feature.

Bad reviews

The app itself is actually quite good; it is fully featured, multi platform with synching. However, sharing links, say through Reddit, brings up a “frequent” list of chat contacts that is anything but. The top names are some of those I haven’t spoken to in 15 years and I don’t see any way to change the ordering. It used to be fine, split into spaces and people, but now it’s just a complete pain to find people in the list without using the search bar. No idea why they broke such a basic feature that worked well.
