Google Home

This app used to be great, and the Google devices in my home could all be easily controlled. Now, I can no longer connect to my Nest Mini and Nest Hub, as it says I'm not on the same wifi network (which I am). What happened to Google? This is starting to smell like it's going the way of the Stadia.

Googles greed made me understand what real hate is.

How can you make something this bad? You should all fire yourselves. I changed the password of my WiFi network and now I have to factory reset my soundbar, with all its settings. It even says this in the help articles! How hard can it be? My Apple TV automatically sent ma a notification asking if I wanted to share the new WiFi password with it. I had to press ONE BUTTON and it was fixed! Be more like Apple and less like yourselves, cause you really aren’t any good at what you’re doing. We live in the year of 2024.. Act like it! And the pairing sequence is so bad, I’m not articulate enough to describe it. The stupid shapes doing its stupid dance while I wait for them to hopefully stack up? So. Incredible. Stupid. It already identified my device correctly, and it still can’t connect?? It reminds me of my PlayStation 1 when I waited for it to hopefully load successfully. That’s a quarter of a century ago. Feel old yet? At least I do when I interact with this excuse of an app, as I seem to find new grey hairs every time.

Google Home had a promising start, but nothing sensible has happened the last few years. It's still difficult to get Google made devices to do what you want & despite all the recent AI advances, you still cannot successfully turn on/off lights using voice. It's like they deserted the entire project 3 years ago? Really sad as this was the cutting edge in Home tech. Side note: there is no way to leave feedback for my Google Nest, so here is a quick one: how is it that a device this mature still has no working customisation options? The device is living a life of its own (doing things I don't want), and it still cannot do what I want it to do? How on earth can I contribute to make it better? There is no way to offer feedback from real users?
