Love my new lights and this app to control it, but every time I open the app, it tells me there’s “a newer version available“ to download. Then makes me hit the confirm button in order to go any further. There is no update. And I can clearly see that it’s been automatic updating and updated a day ago. This has been going on since I downloaded the app. Do not love. Pls fix.

Great lights, love them. Had my outdoor lights set up to turn on and off at night but since they removed the automation, cannot keep our settings. Got the timer going but have to set the theme manually everyday. Lame and annoying. Please bring back the automation.

The app layout is confusing and not simple or intuitive to use - and I’m a pretty tech savvy guy. The interface is cramped with too many unnecessary features and options to edit scenes when all I want are big simple buttons to easily press and get the light setting I want. It’s a classic case of over-engineering and over-complicating something that should be easy and simple to use.

UPDATE:

It seems they finally fixed the issues and everything seems to be working fine now. I do think the previous app was much more user friendly though. 

I normally don’t have issues, other than the occasional connectivity issues, but ever since they update the app, nothing works properly. All of my custom light settings no longer work. It just never connects. Also Alexa seems to not be working with it anymore either. I’ve tried all kinds of troubleshooting but no luck. I wish they’d return to the previous app.

How does this not have a simple intuitive way to group multiple light strips or devices with the same model or feature so that scene or color scheme change can be apple. From all the 4 year old screenshots on reddit it looks like that the app used to have a group feature. Now I can just create a room but still have to adjust each strip separately.  That is dumb.

Update-maybe I wasn’t clear- I need to control from an outside location- removed from where the light strip is installed- ie: another state or place. This cannot be done- I am connected to WiFi where lights are installed- I absolutely can change the lights when I’m sitting in the room- but when I’m not home and someone needs me to turn them on or off or change their color, etc- NOT POSSIBLE- if CYNC can figure this feature out, why can’t you guys?

Unable to control the light strip remotely. I have timers set, but when we’re away, it would be nice to control color, timing, or anything for that matter. This strip requires the controller to be present, which for us, is useless!! Pretty disappointing for the price of the product…

Govee should rip this app apart and start fresh. Generally things should get better with time but that’s not the case here. As updates roll out things seem to get worse. 
In this most recent update they buried everything to do with schedules. Most of us had to watch a video to find it. Schedules in a smart home lighting app should be up front and in your face. 
There is too much going on in this thing. Slim it down.
