## GPX-Viewer Description
Import and view GPS eXchange format (GPX) files. GPX-Viewer offers a customizable display of GPX files exported from many GPS devices and other apps that create GPX files.

Import GPX files from the Cloud (includes iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc), your local device, or by using iTunes file sharing, email, a URL, or your pasteboard.

  - Customize your map: Apple Maps, Google Maps, OpenStreetMaps, or use a custom map tile source URL
  - Color customization for waypoints, track points, routes and tracks
  - Hide or show the waypoints, track points, routes or tracks on the map
  - Choose units: Metric, imperial, or nautical

  - Organize and quick-view files: Create folders to better organize your GPX files, and preview the tracks of all files within a folder
  - Import GPX files to the current GPX file
  - Send the waypoints to Apple Maps
  - Keep device from sleeping: Option to disable screen auto-lock

Create and share charts:
  - Y axis: Elevation or speed
  - X axis: Track points, distance, or time

I download a GPX file, readable with every other viewer on my phone. With this App, I am told ‚you don‘t have permission‘. Maybe there’s a simple fix but I haven’t found it, and as I‘ve said, I haven’t had this issue with other viewers.

Ich verwende diese App zum Abfahren vorab erstellter Touren mit dem Fahrrad oder Motorrad. Diese Touren müssen mit einem anderen Tool erstellt werden. 
Diese App hat drei Layer.
Unten: Karte (einstellbar)
Mitte: Geladene Tour im Format GPX 
Oben: Eigene, aktuelle Position 
Beim Abfahren müssen nur die geladene Tour und die eigene Position deckungsgleich sein.
Straßen kennt die App nicht und deshalb gibt es auch keine akustischen Anweisungen. Dieses Prinzip hat Vorteile und Nachteile.
Wenn man sich für dieses Prinzip entschieden hat, wird man diese App  schätzen!
Während mein iPhone an einer Stromversorgung hängt, wird beim Verwenden dieser App der Ruhestand nicht aktiviert.

A question to the developer: is there a plan to offer the app also for Apple watch? That would make usage much easier for cycling, mountainbiking skitouring etc  In most cases it would not be necessary to grab the iPhone out of the pocket or backpack any longer. Would be perfect!

Selbst die gut gemeinten Hinweise zum Laden von Offline Karten funktionieren nicht. Nicht brauchbar im Ausland ohne Flatrate.

Funktioniert prinzipiell. Allerdings ist das speichern der offline Karten denkbar umständlich. Man muss auf allen gewünschten Vergrößerungsstufen den Pfad oder oder das Gebiet  manuell abfahren. Andere Programme lassen einen hier einfach große Kartenausschnitte auswählen und holen sich die Kartenkacheln aller Vergrößerungsstufen automatisch dazu. Äußerst problematisch kommt hinzu, dass der cache ab und zu Daten verliert und auf einmal Kacheln weg sind, die vorher noch gespeichert waren - das sieht man übrigens auch an der Cache-Größe, die kleiner wird. Wenn man sich dann darauf verlässt, ist man verlassen.
