Happy: Codex & Claude Code App

Codex & Claude Code on the go

Veröffentlicht von: Bulka

Beschreibung

Happy Coder is the secure mobile companion for Codex and Claude Code that lets you continue your AI coding sessions anywhere (not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI). Built by developers who needed to check on their AI assistant's progress during coffee breaks, this app brings the full Codex and Claude Code experience to your phone with military-grade encryption.
**Important**: This app requires Codex or Claude Code to be installed on your computer. Happy Coder is a companion app that connects to your existing Codex or Claude Code setup.
**Key Features:**
- Continue Codex and Claude Code sessions seamlessly between desktop and mobile
- Push notifications for permission requests and task completion
- Access conversation history even when your terminal is offline
- End-to-end encryption - your code stays private
- Real-time streaming of AI responses
- Zero-knowledge architecture - we can't read your data
**How It Works:**
1. Install the happy-coder CLI on your computer
2. Scan a QR code to securely pair your devices
3. Use 'happy' instead of 'codex' or 'claude' to start encrypted sessions
4. Switch between desktop and mobile instantly
Perfect for developers who:
- Want to monitor long-running tasks on the go
- Need secure access to proprietary code discussions
- Value privacy and open-source transparency
- Work from coffee shops, trains, or anywhere
Happy Coder uses the same encryption as Signal (TweetNaCl) and is completely open source. Your encryption keys never leave your device, and all data is encrypted before transmission.
Built by Bay Area engineers who believe the best tools come from scratching your own itch. We needed a way to securely check on our AI coding assistant while away from our desks - so we built it and shared it with the community.
Your code. Your privacy. Your Codex and Claude Code companion.

Vibe coding is a worse addiction than video games. It’s because we can finally get things done that are productive. Happy has made me so happy. I can finally leave my terminal knowing my agents are working. Thank you. It works wonderfully. Would love to have a conversation.

Thank you for making this!

I tried to create my own and your solution is much better. Really nice user experience! Highly recommended! 💪🏼

Just what I've always wanted

I've always wished I could actually do the coding part of my job from my phone, and now I can. This works really great. It's SO much nicer than trying to do Claude Code over SSH from my phone, or over screen share. The UI is really nice.

Great idea, buggy execution

Love the idea, glad someone is building it! But wow it’s a bit clunky to set up. The mobile app of tens tells me to “open the mobile app” and do something to continue, seemingly thinking I’m on web. There’s no way to log in to an existing account via the mobile app it seems - only manually typing in your secret key

Amazing way to build production apps

The first time I used Happy I was blown away. I was about to take an uber to NC for a flight and installed it and walked out the door. In line at TSA pre-check, I finished another 20% of a magic link app. On the plane, waiting to depart, I deployed it to AWS and made some final dynamoDB schema changes. By the time, I returned to NYC, the app was live in Prod. ❤️ it!

Works great except for this voice mode

Really awesome user experience, sinking it up and interacting with the one caveat that the voice mode on the mobile app does not work

Awesome tool

I was using Tailscale + Termius to connect to Claude Code on my laptop but this streamlines the whole process. I can still use Tailscale and Termius to spin up ‘happy’ instances on my remote machine and connect to them with this tool for a better UI/UX experience, plus the ability to dictate my responses. I’m only giving 4 stars because dark mode doesn’t work - the chat screen background stays light.
