I have this app for years and it’s one of the most complete and useful apps of it’s kind. I hope it will get support for dark mode at some point in the future.
I found a bug and reported it. Never heard back from the developer after multiple attempts. I’ve been a user for 4-5 years. Disappointed in the lack of a response. Save your money and go with a more dependable app (developer).
I tried a lot of budget apps, free and paid. What I like about this app is it gives you a lot of the flexibility and control you get with a serious accounting app without the complex setup those often require. For instance, you can completely customize the Categories and Subcategories to get the kind of financial picture that works best for you. You can also do somewhat tricky things like set both a ‘positive’ cost budget and ‘negative’ income budget that cancel out to show you your real discretionary income after “pass-thru” costs. It’s also easy to track both regular balances, like your checking, savings and cash, as well as credit card debt and loans and make transfers between these accounts. The bill calendar can show these recurring transfers as bills since, after all, they end up being part of your month-over-month liabilities. The ‘reconciliation’ feature can really help you if you cultivate a habit of doing it since it helps you track the difference between pending and posted balances. And, of course, a big part of the paid features is the family feature where multiple users and devices can work in the same accounts and everything stays in-sync. In short, the fact that this app is simple and doesn’t try to automate too much for you is part of its strength because it keeps it highly flexible and customizable.
I downloaded this app less than 24 hours ago after browsing the App Store on my iPhone. As a former Mint user still searching for a suitable replacement, my initial thoughts are mixed. After purchasing the full version, I discovered that neither of my banking institutions are in the app's database for linking (Service credit union and Credit Karma). This was a major disappointment. I've submitted a request to the developers to add these banks. Additionally, I'm unsure if the app frequently communicates with the banks to pull recent transactions, which would prevent the need to manually add each transaction. Another issue I noticed is that the app counts future income transactions in the current balance before the date they are received. This distorts the current balance, making it difficult to accurately assess available funds. Lastly, while the payee section is a nice feature, it lacks preloaded information, requiring manual entry for all details. For those with 20+ accounts to manage, this can be quite tedious without preloaded transaction information.
My wife and I have been using this app for several years as a way to keep track of our finances. It has the ability to update itself cross platform for both my PC, my Mac, along with my iPhone, and my wife’s iPhone this allows us to easily enter our purchases and categorize them. I really like the fact that you can add Canadian accounts, and it will automatically convert the currency. You can then easily create a report that categorizes you’re spending or export it as a csv file for excel.
How do you pull your money amount from previous month versus starting at zero? Bought app and April went gear then May 1st hit and couldn’t see money in the account ? Help out
I’ve been using this app for about 6 years now and it has truly helped my get my finances in order. I was initially looking for an app that didn’t sync to my bank accounts so I could manually enter my expenses which helped me realize how poorly I was managing my money. I don’t even want to know where I’d be now if I hadn’t found this app. 🫣
I’ve been using this for years as a tracker and more as a reminder for upcoming bills. The biggest and most inconvenient aspect of the app is that reoccurring bills can only be entered as a two year duration. So in essence, unless you remember to extend your mortgage being due on the first of the month after using the app for two years the bill just doesn’t appear on the 25th month’s list of bills. If it were only that easy to avoid your house payment….. There should be a way to have bills project further than 24 months.
I was not finance savvy and didn’t get the concept of reconciliation when I first tried this app years ago. I tried again a few months ago and absolutely love this app. It’s everything I’ve been looking for. I wanted a place where I can see all my account balances without actually linking my bank via plaid.. etc. I bought the full app back all those years ago and still have the complete access. Very satisfied.
