I just updated my iCab because I was having some annoyance with it opening other apps without permission, but was otherwise great as ever. The update though - downloads seem broken, tabs reset, app switching blur not working… Might as well use Safari! Please fix it or tell me how to roll back!!

Suddenly I’ve got 2 address bars, 2 tool bars, search no longer works, my sessions aren’t remembered on restart. Everything feels broken. Help!

2024 12 26 REVIEW - v11 is slow, buggy, and 3 steps back cosmetically. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! NOOOOOOOOO!!!! V11 feels almost like a work in progress. Sorry, I can't recommend it just yet. I am sticking with it because I know (hope!) it will come good again. After a decade at the too this is the first misstep. OLD REVIEW - A sublime experience from a brilliant independent developer. ICab has EVERYTHING you need in a browser. Does things you can't do on anywhere else in one place, and so clear and easy to use. Simply, BRILLIANT. Big tip given.

I cannot understand why everybody still uses Safari! On the desktop I'm a Firefox fan, but on the iPhone nothing compares to iCab

Hope to see updates more often and also would like to set permissions to use microphone for certain websites without asking

I’ve been using iCab since first launched. It’s hands down the best and the most feature rich. It lost some useful features due to Apple increased regulations but the developer is taking it seriously and it’s obvious it’s his personal go to browser not just an app. So he keeps improving and fixing bugs, adding new features. The dev. is not only active, but a great person, not greedy at all like others who keep using tricky twisted ways to milk their loyal customers by removing the app and re-releasing a new version at a new cost, or keep increasing the price, or worst, turn into the ugly subscription module like we need more subscriptions in our RENTAL life! That’s why I fully appreciate his great work, efforts and time and I fully support him by donating and leaving this review. The least I can do and I will donate again in the further. Please dev., keep up the good work. 👍 I have one request though, and I don’t think it’s difficult. Please, provide iCloud sync for the downloads folder as an optional feature in settings. So we can backup our downloads to iCloud and sync them as well between iPhone and iPad (multiple devices. I WILL donate again for this feature alone and I’m ready to pay for it if you decide to make as IAP, although you were always generous not to follow this module. I am sure many users will find it handy so we don’t lose our downloads in case we forgot and formatted or sold our devices without moving them outside, or in case something goes wrong with iOS and we need to reinstall it from scratch (happened to me many times and I lost valuable documents, unfortunately! ). Please! Thanks again and keep the updates coming. Hope everybody appreciates the amount of work and time the dev. put into this and the commitment he showed through the years with his exceptional generosity! Had this a while, for sometime now, it contstantly goes does not load pages as if you are offline, you have to wait for a while then searchs suddenly work. Loading google is the biggest culprit page. Please fix this. Would not recommend buying unless you want to wait around if they leave this broken sadly.

The browser scene on iOS is woeful. Firefox is rubbish, most of the rest are half-finished or scams. iCab is different, and absurdly configurable. It offers full built-in custom filter support for ad-blocking, which somehow Firefox neglects, and you can even tweak the interface, which I think is unique among iOS browsers. It does come with a reasonable amount of useless modules installed, but spend 30 minutes setting this up and you’ll finally feel like you have a desktop browser on a mobile device. And it allows you to specify your user-agent, which is possibly the single most useful feature on an iPad where everyone still tries to serve you mobile websites.
