Waste of money does not work genius tho because I don’t feel like fighting to get back my $2
DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP! SHORTLY AFTER INSTALLING THE APP, I HAD MY PHONE TAKE MULTIPLE PHOTOS OF MY FRONT AND BACK CAMERA BY ITSELF! THIS APP IS JUST A $1.99 TRACKER! I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY THIS!
Crap doeant even open. Support says replace the phone. Back to android for me. Their store doesn't let this crap happen and android is simply a better platform.
Tried this with Ivideon and camera never connects. It is advertised as working with IP Cam viever software so if this doesn't work IMHO its a fail. Really wishing they can fix this as it would be awesome to use iphones as surveillance cameras with IP cam viewing software.
Tried to stream with Synology Survaliance Station and Zoneminder. Result - Invalid response status 505: HTTP Version not supported HTTP/1.1.
On iPad4, the App screen is OK, but the web view is upside-down. iPhone5 screen is upside down in the App, but OK in web view. There's no audio from iPhone5, but there is audio from the iPad which cuts out every couple of seconds. I'm seeing a laggy video on any device in any browser (all current browsers and plugins). Video frame rate is two frames per second in web view. In the Support Forum, there are unanswered questions from months ago. It's an OK App if you have no other way at hand to send video.
I have purchased many iOS apps over the years. Very few are worth much, and even fewer provide support. I found that this app developer provided excellent support! As a result, I have even downloaded and used other apps produced by this same developer. I am very satisfied and would recommend purchasing IP Cam and other apps developed by Senstic.
While setup is a snap, the usefulness of the application is minimal. The application must be first and foremost on the device. Meaning that you must have the application displayed on the screen. So you have your camera displayed on the device in order to use it. If you use the Blank Screen option (hahaha), what you have is a dim screen with a green line on the top. Not very useful as a security camera. Save your money.
It does work. I needed this to work with some standard mjpeg viewer software and it does work like that, so that's good. Unfortunately, the framerate is pretty disappointing. Regardless of how I set the framerate, resolution, and quality, I get maybe 5fps at best on my 5s. Another cam app I bought after this one has no such problem so I know it's not a hardware / network limitation. Lastly, it would be nice if the actual resolution was shown in the options instead of just low / medium / high. My client software needed to know the actual resolution so it took some guesswork to get that working. I'll keep it installed because I've already paid for it but I expect I'll mostly use the other cam app I bought (which was also less expensive) due to the framerate problem.
