i use arch on my desktop and this feels like home, no gui or fancy ui just the good old command line. lets you install gcc, python and whatnot since it uses the alpine repositories. just got this recently but it is by far the best app ive seen, no ads or anything straight to the point

This is just amazing. Suddenly, I can use my iPad for coding. I’ve got a real instance of linux running. I’m coding through vim in python, JavaScript, html, css and node.js, synching files using git. Totally blown away. I’m a Linux beginner, and find this is the perfect entry point into the subject.

There are downsides: it’s an emulation, so it doesn’t run fast if you put any load on it, and I can’t get X11 to work, so no graphical applications or Tkinter. BUT you CAN run node.js/python webservers and serve things to your iPad browser :D

Overall, this is a brilliant tool, and I thank the developers for their hard work, creativity and generosity.
