### ***-- "Seems pretty good, but some problems"
We installed Jami across all our family devices this evening.  I set up a group swarm, like a group chat on WhatsApp.  My daughter blasted the chat with GIF’s and now my wife and I can’t open the swarm on our iOS devices, although my kids can open the swarm, and I can open the swarm on my Linux PC.  In the end we had to set up a new “backup swarm” so that we can continue chatting.  I’d be happy to know how to work around or fix this, as I know that I’m not the product in this app and someone has gone to the effort of writing a reasonably decent bit of software and given it out for free.

Can’t send gif and when I do the app crashes out in the group chat! Any gif I sent doesn’t load nor show. It doesn’t even load. Fix it fast as it’s impossible to use!

I was hoping this would be the mastodon of chat apps, but it basically doesn’t work.

I was able to get a username registered and convinced a friend to try too. They added me and I accepted the request but I can’t send them messages because it’s synchronising. 

That’s after realising I had a request. The app didn’t give any notifications so it was a day or two until I noticed. Do you both have to be online at the same time? Madness. 

If notifications do work then there must be some kind of server as that’s required by Apple for remote (ie useful) notifications. Also how did it know my username was unique?

Not impressed, sorry.

### *---- "Doesn’t work due to firewall, and no documentation on how to configure"
This app does not work through my firewall.

The support and help pages have no documentation on how to configure a firewall to allow audio and video calls, other than to enable UPnP. My firewall does not support UPnP.

Additionally to iOS version has no settings to enable TURN servers in order to get around this limitation.

As above, I can text but no video. The Windows user can establish full link to me.

### ***** "Nice, video calls, encryption, open source"
Works very well, made calls and video from mobile and desktop apps.

Big plus this application is open source, doesn’t use centralised server like most apps so you don’t depend on google, apple and others for this to work you just need internet. It also means it’s very robust and secure.

If you choose a username it doesn’t allow all characters like “dot” for example.
