Jump Desktop (RDP, VNC, Fluid)

I rarely review apps but I had to for Jump. Get a Citrix X1 mouse and extract maximum value from Jump! I bought this app as only two apps work on iOS with a mouse. Citrix workspace and Jump. I use Jump to Remote Desktop into a windows machine and when I travel all I need is an iPad. There are something’s that I need to do to be able to access my Mac remotely but that is not a jump limitation. I just haven’t had the time. App never crashes, does what it’s meant to and supports a mouse. What more could you ask for.

This app is fast. very useful.

Great app! At last my iPad is actually working for me. Remote access to my desktop is quick and easy. Able to open and edit any document. Only thing i travel with these days is my iPad.....

Invested in it and found that the company was actually adhering to the promise made in their advertisement. No crashing in IOS4 and when you connect via RDP (netbios/ip address) it does indeed utilise both processers of iPad 2 which means superfast connection. Additionally you do not need to struggle with cumbersome mouse pointer and login screen is actually different but better than when you log into your pc or server. Screen of your remote pc/server also minimize after login (by default) to fit according to the size of your iPad screen. Maybe there is problems with the application but nothing that I have picked up on. Money worth spending on. South Africa

Everything is so nice, just the app icon… is a bit outdated… please redesign it. At least support dark mode

It works really well but I want arrow keys on the top of the keyboard when using my phone in portrait mode without having to switch to the dedicated arrow key keyboard. The arrow keys show up fine in landscape mode so this can very easily be implemented in portrait mode.

The app is great, but there’s definitely one feature missing from it that would make it a lot better - onscreen gamepad for games (maybe configurable). Right now there’s no way to do anything like this - you can map the keys on the numeric keyboard, but there aren’t enough keys to meaningfully do anything with, and the full iOS keyboard doesn’t seem to register as instant input (from what I can tell). Not a huge huge issue, but I think it would making remote gaming a lot easier, as right now the only real option is an external controller or finding some sort of on screen accessibility keyboard for the desktop. Even a custom keyboard option that lets you choose your own keys would be an acceptable workaround

Jump Desktop is absolutely the best remote control app I’ve used. I can edit in realtime Final Cut Pro on my desktop using the IPad. This is the one you been looking for. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Six years ago, with this app, I retrieved a file from my computer. At the time I was in a different part of the country. It literally saved the day, and a bonus came my way for the data. If you need access to your desktop just like you were sitting in front of it this is the one.

I bought this app because I needed a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client app which allows me to set the RDP network quality setting, which is important to get proper performance when connecting to xrdp-based RDP hosts. This relatively expensive app, which advertises RDP as its first protocol (in its name) does not offer this setting. As the app didn’t meet my needs, I requested a refund from Apple, which was denied, and the subsequent appeal was denied too for whatever reason. Since I’m now stuck with this app which does not provide the RDP feature I need, I’m leaving this review so that others who are in the same boat may find this before buying and maybe getting stuck with it.

I was able to connect to my MacBook Pro M1 Max for about five seconds…then I went back to the login screen on the laptop. Then I was able to log in for about five seconds…then it kicked me back to the login screen on the MacBook. It does not work. Period. A total waste of my $15.
