I’ve been using the app for several years and it has worked well. Lately, however, the feature that uploads the completed workouts to Training Peaks not longer works. The Support tab on the app and the website is a link to the Zendesk website. However, Kinetic is no longer a Zendesk client according to Zendesk linked page. I called the Kinetic Fit 800 number and got a recording telling me to go the Zendesk link which, of course, doesn’t work. The recording also said they would get back to me and that was about a week ago. If they don’t get back to me I will cancel my subscription which I am reluctant to do given the years of exercise data it has.
No Support
Although my subscription just auto-renewed 3 days ago for another month, the app is only showing me the free ‘demo version’ functionality. I’ve tried everything to get access to the workouts I have paid for, but no luck. When trying to get support I realized that the app is completely unsupported. There is no link to support within the app, and the support links on their website are broken. Apple should remove this from the App Store.
Calibration functionality is abysmal
I have a Kinetic fluid trainer with an InRide v.3 power meter sensor. I also have the Kinetic T-6400 controllable smart trainer. This app does an awful job calibrating the power on these two machines despite setting my bike on both units exactly according to Kinetic’s instructions. It doesn’t help that Kinetic hasn’t touched this so in over 4 years.
Great Workouts
Great workouts of various lengths that target all power zones. There’s even a FTP test.
Outdated App. Free version OK
Used this primarily to sync with indoor spin bike. Free version was useful to get wattage and some data on fitness progress. (Although very questionable accuracy)
Tried the premium version trial and for the cost it is a primitive app. You’re basically buying their training plans and that’s it.
Custom work outs are basic. There is preloaded custom work outs you cannot delete, so the folder is cluttered with ‘test’ rides. Minimal customization on displays, target data, etc. Not worth 100/yr whatsoever.
Disappointing Silo
I have a Kinetic trainer, and upgraded the sensor from the OG Bluetooth (which did nothing with my new phone) to the 3.
It reports to Apple Health which is great! But, it’s only the heart rate data, in what looks like lower-than-usual resolution.
Training Peaks is supposed to upload all my Apple Health activity, but it doesn’t upload activity from this app.
Kinetic is supposed to be able to upload to training peaks, but it hasn’t worked for me yet.
So I have workouts that have a lot of data that feel trapped in this app.
Here’s the real ask: as an update to the sensor, WatchOS, or in the next Kinetic sensor, whatever change that will let the sensor’s power meter talk directly to WatchOS 10+.
I like the Apple UI and heart rate zones way better than chasing a number in this app, my integrations work; the cadence, speed, heart, (and hopefully power) data lives in my Apple Health database.
Right now Kinetic is the only power meter and trainer I have, and I really wish I could get the rich data my outside rides on WatchOS give me about everything but power.
Garmin integrates?
This doesn’t recognize my Garmin HR monitor as well as the speed and cadence monitors.
Disappointing…no support from kinetic.
Kinetic
Difficult to use, subscription based and will not record heart rate even when connected to apple watch.
No Support
There is no more support, calibration doesn’t work, so speed and cadence are completely off.
Why did the Android version take a dump?
Had to switch to IPhone in order to be able use the app. Fix the android version. Like the app, when it works.
