## LapTracker Description
The automatic lap timer that speaks over 30 languages!
LapTracker is a motion detection-based lap timer that can be used to track runners, cyclists, cars, models, swimmers, karts, slot cars etc. The camera view has up to four adjustable detection zones that can be used to track up to four different racers. The iPhone/iPad is placed on the side of the track and laps are automatically counted, timed and spoken. Results are presented in graphical form to enable simple and straightforward comparison of participants, and can also be submitted by email for further analysis.

For a solo lap timer it does work really well. Phone in tripod, set it up to watch a single lane = boom lap times with emailable file. Does count down timer so you can run qualifying style runs & track improvements / hone your driving. Good for comparing set ups too. Really impressed for the cost.

Just set your phone or iPad up near the track and with a few inputs you are underway.
Very cheap and convenient method, thanks to the online blogger whose thread led Neto it. The app maker is very helpful too.

My son has this & it works perfectly for slot car racing with the latest apple products. Needs careful setup as instructed. My son thinks the voice announced lap times are very cool. The best lap time adds to the enjoyment even if run solo. Couldn't get voice to work on iPhone 4 to start with, but this resolved itself. Highly recommended. (Tip to developer - make sure the app comes up on a search for "scalextric lap timer" -  we only found it by chance. You could develop it into a specialist slot car timer, with a few bells and whistles, and have a monopoly on the market at present)

The actual lap recognition and timing works really well and is well configured, but the way some of the elements are configured is frustrating. Chiefly, after a race there is no clear indication of winner, nor is it possible to email or save the lap times CSV automatically on race completion. Fix these issues and it's a 5 star app for sure.
