Lezhin Comics-Premium Webtoons

This app doesn’t redirect, or contain ads but the annoying thing is that you can’t rlly read anything unless you’ve got thousands of dollars on pocket. Every Manga/Manhwa/Manhua has a chapter list, when you click on 1 to read it shows you the chapter list, and you can c only the first chapter is free, rest of the chapters cost around 30 coins ( in game currency ) and the only way you can obtain these coins is by collecting daily rewards, completing daily reward tasks ( which require u to read certain books which also require coins ) or by purchasing them, which I find is ridiculous cuz I can read all of these for free on a web-browser. Some have 100+ chapters, so if you wanna read them fully you have to pay 3000+ coins, and just buying 1400 coins is like $60+ I think?? Not only that but there aren’t a lot of options to read from, they don’t have most of the popular ones like Under the green light, Love is an illusion, Passion, ect… it only has ones published under its own brand

It seems there is a large range of high quality comics available, but the price for coins in order to read them are simply inaccessible. While it’s completely reasonable to pay the artists, authors, and translators, it would be better in the long run to have a combination of ad revenue, free titles, and paid titles. I think it would also be favourable to, instead of coins, allow purchase of single titles for a smaller fee. There also seem to either be a glitch or some kind of payment scam where the sale prices are listed for higher than the original price (or the original price might be in one currency and the sale price in a different currency?) so someone might pay MORE for coins thinking it’s a discount as advertised. In the long run, the business will make more money if they adjust their pricing model to be more accessible, because I’m sure I’m not the only one who will delete the app rather than pay this much to read. I can find reading material elsewhere. Ebook pricing is far lower per reading minute 🤷🏼‍♀️

you can’t even buy coins anymore in the app - it doesn’t work 😭

The app use to let you buy coins now you can’t even do that you have to go and log on to the game from google to even buy coins it’s wrong and I’m very disappointed

I used to have the app and the comics I read were some of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of viewing. However, there are many problems with Lehzin. 1. If you start a ‘wait to read’ comic, you don’t get to finish it unless you pay money. Not a bad deal if the money goes to the author… but we’ll get to that in a minute. Most comics have to be fully bought to be read and the ones that are free, eventually become locked before you can catch up on them. A bit annoying if you ask me, there are many more websites and apps that take money in a less confusing way. 2. THE WAY THEY TREAT THEIR AUTHORS IS DEPLORABLE. Truely deplorable. If you are reading this comment I suggest you do your research on this platform before even downloading the app. I really hope the creators behind *the literal most amazing comics I’ve ever read* find a better place to share their work. A place where they can actually be appreciated. Thanks for reading, I hope Lehzin changes.

I have literally spent hundreds of dollar on this but I went on a year hiatus after reading their treatment to their writers/mangakas and specifically BL ones as 99% of what I read there is BL. I recently caved and bought some again because I miss it and I do want to support the writer legally, but if I heard that they don’t receive my money /AGAIN/ i will just use google translate I bought some coins again because the authors have calmed down on twitter, even though some seems to have sworn off Lezhin (not their fault, Lezhin takes 70% of the profit, doesn’t even pay them for international sales, force authors to draw even when they’re sick with cancer, broke off contract without notifying them, etc). Some great series have been cut short because of Lezhin and I hope it will never again (RIP dolphin fairies) To Lezhin, stop shooting yourself in the foot, your BL manhwas brought a lot of profit and constantly dominate the rankings but you treat your mediocre male authors better simply because they’re male Since Royal Servant’s author have come back I assume it is improving, since they were one of the worst affected despite being one of the top selling series, but if I ever heard this happening again I will boycott Lezhin permanently, there are more and more webtoon app now anyway unlike the past

I was honestly pretty satisfied with the app but after reading up on the treatment of the authors I’m beyond disgusted. They severely underpay their authors when it’s their work. Smh.
