To be able to import and read books in different languages makes you forget that you’re learning one. The learning is just a byproduct of immersing in what you love. And the tracking system is brilliant. A must for any serious language learner to check out. The interface is bit confusing, it took me couple of hours to figure out how it really works. But after you get it going it’s great! I’ve used Babbel, Duolingo, Glossika and Memrise to study French but now LingQ is my favorite app. It’s not for the absolute beginner, you should have some knowledge of the language. It focuses on learning new words, to understand written and spoken language by listening and reading meaningful content. In French there are hundreds of audio and text files on every possible subject. And you can import your own. It keeps count of your progress and has all sorts of challenges you can take part in to keep the motivation going. It has some bugs and a stupid avatar.
