Lirer: Learn Japanese

In general I really like this app, that is why I bought the lifetime license. However I am not fully satisfied with the review system. I am using it nearly every day to rehearse vocabulary. This means that the review is very important in my learning practice (and this is why I decided to pay the lifetime license). What I experienced is that if I don't do the review within a certain time period, the vocabulary that is waiting gets somehow lost. This is very annoying/time consuming because then I have to do the chapter again again to make the vocabulary appear in the review. Could this be somehow fixed? So the vocabulary that is due doesn't get deleted from the review system at some point. Thank you!

Very well made app to learn JLPT grammar. Sometimes, it crashes though during the reviews or lessons

It’s completely free. For each vocabulary, there’s an example sentence and a note to remember the reading. It questions you about the vocabs in different way so you also know the reading and kanji

Learning is an individual thing, so such a recommendation might not be valid for each. In my case: I use this app in combination with an other flashcard app, transferring each lesson manually. Probably this way seems to others cumbersome, for me it is part of the entire excersise. I like how these lessons are clustered, giving me a good understanding in which context particular vocabs supposed to be used. Also the staggered methodology to get familar with new words is good: meaning, spelling, multiple choice and finally freetext matches to the way I prefer to learn. Frankly, I don‘t use the built-in review-function. It can‘t compete with a flashcard app. Benefical side effect for a non native speaker: By this app I do improve my English, too.

This is a great app but I’m surprised to see errors periodically. I’m wondering if users are not bringing them to the developer’s attention, or the developer is not as interested in quality control as perhaps they should be. Overall it’s a fantastic app for learning Japanese but the occasional mistakes do not inspire 100% confidence.

Helps a ton with the basics if you wanna get off the ground for learning basic Japanese writing.
